I was there in August and the *entire* place smelled like a dirty locker room. I’m not exaggerating. I’ll never forget the smell of feet and the desire to get outside as quickly as possible. I just happened to bring sanitizing wipes with me and my friend and I used have the pack wiping our legs and feet at the end. I’m not trying to discourage anyone from going, but I’m sharing my experience. Also, the “art” was just so-so, but it photographs really well so you’ll get some awesome instagram posts if that’s what you’re looking for.

We saw there were slots a day before so we took a risk and went down and only bought and chose our slot then. However Japan only just reopened while we were there, I think maybe you should book beforehand now…

Unfortunately most of the water area artworks are seasonal and won't be able to see them in june, plus the free floating will be closed due to renovation work... but I'll make sure to go at night to better enjoy the garden and public areas

So according to teamLab’s official website they chose orchid because it can thrive without soil! “The flowers in this artwork are orchids. Most orchids are able to grow without soil by absorbing water from the air. The flowers in this artwork are alive, growing, and blooming with each passing day. It could be said that they are growing in mid-air. Flowering plants were the last of the plant species to appear on earth. And orchids were the last of the flowers to appear, which means they are the most evolved plants. Since orchids were the last to appear, the soil was already full of other plants. Because of this, orchids evolved to live on rocks and trees where other plants could not survive. It could be said that orchids are flowers that have evolved to live without soil.”

I’m quite happy they extended it so we could have and opportunity, the exhibition still looks so new inside. Hopefully they will extend it once again for the rest of us who didn’t get to see it!

Haha! It was quite hard to film there with our phones but when you are there you can actually seat on the floor to slowly admire the illumination!!

You will love it!!! It’s huge and really felt like infinity (unlike the version I had experience in SG which is so tiny, but things in SG are like that)

I didn’t and check online before I head there that the tickets was available. This was also because I rushed into Japan in October when they reopened 😂. It’s better to book online first if you can…
