Ranger hands down, better quality hull and finish not to mention a far better ride and fishing platform then the skeeter. Only reason to buy the skeeter is for the sho but you can get that on a vexus and have a better boat than either one.

@@muthafukajones1513 I bought a skeeter FXR 20...love the boat it is awesome....the 2 ranger boats I looked at to me the fit and finish was very disturbing to me if you really looked the boat over inside and out.... that's just me I think if you're going to buy a boat go the one that fits you and your stile of fishing ....at the end of the day I think the all are made pretty well these days.

Skeeter all day! Depends on how you view the "more accessories". I live in Florida where its always ball soup, dont need them to boil with headed seats. Would definitely swap the raptors out for power poles. Skeeter also gets the atlas and ultrex to major upgrades over lowrance and ghost. Also much better trailer with the Skeeter. Youre gonna need a jumper box for the ranger with those tracker lithiums with a wrm sticker on the side die on you so you can get back to the ramp. Just my opinion

95 Skeeter ZX 300 repowered with a Suzuki 250SS.... My boat is a beast. Anyone on it has been amazed how stable it fishes and can still run. I'll buy carpet and upholstery thank you.

@@angelahuddleston740 yes, but a Vexus isn’t a dolled up Nitro like the post Wood Rangers. Not saying Rangers aren’t great boats, because they ARE. For 100k+, I’d go with a Vex. Like you say, Vex wouldn’t be if it weren’t for Ranger, but why though? Yeah, I’ll go with a Vex. As a poor man who owns neither though, I’d be happy to have either one honestly. New/Old idgaf.

I haven’t rode in the new 521r but I’ve rode in an fxr20 on st clair on a pretty rough day and was blown away by how well it handled the big water, IMO better than anything else I’ve rode in besides maybe a vexus (which I may be bias because the vexus is gorgeous). The front deck on the skeeter is probably one of the biggest as well.

I have a 2022 520R and my buddy was a long time Ranger fan left them bought a FXR20 LIMITED and we met up at St.Lawrence and he was pissed after driving the new 520R it wasn't out when he bought his Skeeter in September of 2021 I bought mine Aug 2022, I never been a Ranger fan 3 Charger Boats and a 2021 Nitro Z19 PRO zero issues but kept reading about 520R and big water so bought one and it is the real deal best boat I ever owned.

Aaaaa-Men!!! But so is EVERY bass boat today!!! As for which boat wins this, I’d avoid ANYTHING Johnny Morris as his motto is to produce boats with as little material as possible to the point he’ll instruct employees to literally skimp out during the build process! And that’s NOT opinion, but fact! When he told the king standing Ranger this is how we will build boats moving forward, there was a mass exodus by the majority of their employees. They refused to produce a lesser product, especially since the prices only increased. And as a life long fan of Ranger, it broke my heart to find this out. I’m currently going to sell my big 22’ Hydrasport Vector and buy myself a Stratos 201 and customize it to be a hybrid Bass Flats boat as it offers the absolute best ride of any bass boat I’ve ever been on. If I had larger sum of disposable cash I’d buy an East Cape Vantage and use that for boats because their build quality is among the best in the world and their boats are INSANE!!!!

I don't know man. More fluff on the Ranger, but the jack plate, boat cover, and spare are more important to me than heated seats. Yamaha > Mercury too, and Andy said better build quality for Skeeter.

My cousin works at skeeter in East Texas and nobody that works there owns a skeeter because they can't afford one. But they do have an employee boat pool. One for the floor hands and one for the managers of course. The floor hands is mainly 18 and 20 footers. If you're in management you get the 21 foot fully rigged with life scope

Lowrance does a heck of a job working with boat OEMS....Hobie (I know ..a kayak) designs their boats for easy Lowrance installation..but a pain for Garmin

Fished the TBA on St.Lawrence and had the whole tournament field talking and the no boater blown away, we started 3rd from last ran out to the lake passed everybody but 2 people which one was my buddy in an FXR 20 but he was boat 2. You have no idea until you get in this boat. Hey it even chine walks you ever heard of a Ranger doing that? As for Mercury not one problem out of my 2021 ProXs 200 and only 30 hours on my new 2022 Pro XS 250. As far as shady goes you'll have to go into detail on that vague statement.

@@rickvann3489 Try to get any aftermarket tuning done for a Mercury and you will see what I mean, also much like Jon Deere equipment they try to keep their diagnostic software to the dealers only and make it very expensive for a consumer to buy because they have a monopoly on it. I know this for a fact because I own a Mercury and won't own another one after dealing with them and their dealers. Yamahas are far easier and cheaper to get tuning and diagnostic equipment for since several companys make it. You can flash a 200 SHO to a 300hp.

Only reason I wouldn’t get the Ranger is because of the motor you have to hang on it. Not sure why they won’t sell a Ranger from the factory with a Yamaha on it but they won’t. Probably because of availability issues ?? I couldn’t afford it anyway so I’ll keep my 2014 Ranger with my Yamaha.

I don’t know about the ranger. I own a 2022 FXR 21. Like the boat but wanted a blazer 625 or 650. Skeeter isn’t fast but it is a big boat 68-70 is all she will give you.

Skeeter 100% the speed is there and the ride is much better and drier than the ranger even with the fancy seats. I’m also a fan of the SHO. The ranger is a solid boat but nothing like they used to be. Build quality on both could be improved but Skeeter takes better care of the customer than White River Marine does. Not a fan of the raptors on the Skeeter would rather have Power Poles. Bilge area much better on the new skeeters. Ranger boxes are drier in the rain. Skeeter is a lot more fun to drive.

Own a 2020 Skeeter FXR21 limited…. The ride is better than any other brand I’ve set foot in, including Ranger, Vexus, Blazer, Cat, etc…. No it doesn’t run 75 but it does have a massive front deck, is gorgeous, and best rough water ride in the industry.
