Really loving this series! One question though. During production with facial animation like this, what would be the better approach? Loading in another texture for every frame or perhaps allocating some space on the same texture's UVs to have multiple frames of the animation, kind of like a texture atlas/spritesheet and just offsetting the UVs everytime you animate.

great tutorial only thing i'd do differently is keep it all in one texture (with both sets of eyes), and then animate the UV COORDS to swap the eyes

This is such an awesome tutorial. Very clear and informative. Just want to ask however.. Would you have any tips to bake normal map for models like this? I noticed the tris count are over 40k.. But Roblox, for example.. The recommended tri counts should be 2000 only. I try using decimate and baking the normal map but the result is somewhat very janky

Great tutorial but one question do I have to know how to draw to paint or make a concept art to make my own character?

To design your own character, you needn't be able to draw entirely. There's ways to work around like tracing over an existing character and just changing the designs and colors. But for sculpting you will need to be able to draw or at least find a way to make the side views and the back for reference.

We used a Wacom Intuos tablet for this, but it is an older version which is no longer sold on their site. The new Wacom Intuos is also similar.
