Updating this thing is a pita for me. I have to get 2 adapters for my sd card to receive the update and then have to use tweezers to remove the card from the Egret 2 mini (the card doesn’t eject by itself) Wish they could’ve just made it wifi compatible but I guess they were trying to save money. Thanks for the video.

Sounds like something went wrong with your console. I’ve not had any issue ejecting the SD cards

I got the English Egret Mini Limited Run did recently, and it's exactly the same, just the box is in English. Does the patch also allow you to leave the trackball games SD card in the machine without removing the original games on screen too now? I've not updated mine yet.

It's basically a firmware update, once the SD card is finished flashing you can switch in your trackball games SD. We would've tested the trackball/spinner portion but for that, I'd need to sell a kidney.

I done mine just now as I have the same one as you Larry, no difference, would have been nice that with the SD card games in you also have access to the other games. Bleh.

@@VirajKathwadia The firmware update did fix this issue, after updating you have access to all 50 games, no SD game card required. When you plug in the spinner/trackball controller, the games list automatically displays all 50 games. If the spinner/trackball controller is not plugged in, it only displays the original 40 games. So you no longer need to insert the SD game card to play the 10 extra games, just plug in the spinner/trackball controller and you're good to go. This is great as it leaves the SD slot open for Arcade Memories Volume 1.

You probably didn't need to. I saw something on the site that said "activate" or "initialise"- that usually means reset.

i have the limited edition blue version , followed the firmware update procedure but nothing happens while holding E & F , it just boots to the games list , any help please??

Maybe try a different cable / computer / usb stick. If you have the files and it needs updating then it should work. I doubt the limited edition had special firmware

@@TeamPandory tried cables , different sdhc cards , still does not go to update screen (blue) it did come with a sd card with Batocera on it (which works) which i can remove and then the Egret goes back to stock

Is the Arcade Memories pre-order (on Amazon Japan) 'with body' the cheapest option? It's ~10k yen cheaper than an Egret II on it's own currently.

Egret II Mini and Arcade Memories Vol1 for 18000 yen atm. I bought the Egret II Mini at release for 17000, not bad for the extra 1000 I guess

Hi pal, I did all of this and I got an “error: cannot mount SD” error when I held down the two buttons at startup. Same blue screen but an error message. Any idea why that’s happened? The card was already on fat32 so I left it as it was, pasted the .bin file onto the card but nothing. The .bin file had no thumbnail on the file so maybe I’m doing something wrong? Thanks!

Try formatting with RUFUS... Or another SD card. Updating can be iffy if you don't have a good memory card - be it to their required spec, or simply "a non fake" ... Fake test that memory card :-)

@@TeamPandory Cheers bud! It works now. Got a final question- I’m using my 2019 MacBook Pro charger as a convenient power supply for the Egret, but as it’s so big, I’m kinda worried it might be too powerful and fry the system or something. Is this the case? I’ve been using it out of convenience

It should work with xbox360 compatibles. We tried a few out in the egret 2 mini review, maybe? 🤔

Terrible latency! What is the point of these devices given that the manufacturer is doing the bare minimum to ensure their product works as expected?
