I think that Mayhem has been working together longer and has stronger/faster team movements. They can move together and cycle almost as a second nature. Their team movements are really smooth.

Problem with matching up this environment is your missing the opposition factor. That is, competing side by side, athletes will make decisions that they wouldn’t in other circumstances. For instance, doing unbroken thrusters at an end of a workout to win it.

This is one of those workouts that has your heart beating up in your throat while your hands are on fire. I can definitely relate to Khan when he got 70% with that last MU. The feeling like mentally you're there and your muscles just go, "wuuuutt ya doin' mate?"

I’m an Annie fan so i hope so. Maybe unpopular opinion: I’ve enjoyed the CrossFit games for over a decade but i don’t think its good for any sport to repeatedly have the same top podium finishers 3+ years in a row

The smaller teams are in a sport, the more the same people will always win. Look at all the individual sports out there. Almost always the same couple people at the top. Usually there are just a few people that are head and shoulders above the rest.

Mayhem have more experience and with both rich and cournoyer i think they might edge them out on fire power aswell. And nisler and taylor are both powerhouser aswell

Right about the women. I think that will make a difference. If Annie/Lauren combined outperform Nisler/Taylor in most events, they will make the podium. I think the team will win a few events. When the dust settles, it will be Mayhem, Invictus and Reykjavik (in order) on the podium. That would be a success. Next year, they will move up in the ranking with another year under his belt. In 2024, after Rich retires in 2023, they will place first (assuming Annie doesn't jump back to an individual competition). This will be a gradual process. No way will they take first in their first time together.

Yeah, for teams, the men are usually similar, difference to be on the podium is on the women. Nisler and Taylor are the best.

@@bbbt8090 My comment doesn't mean I'm counting her out. I'm rooting for her to do well. I think part of it is I'm comparing her to women if they competed individually. I see her similarly to Kristi E. O. That's why I said her output needs to match Annie's. Put in another way, think about Brooke Wells. For Brooke to get to the podium, her output needs to match Tia's if she wants to get on the podium. If her injury hadn't happened, I think she would have been 4th-6th place in last year's Games. We'll see if she has closed the gap/matched the output of Tia to propel her to the podium. And, we'll see if Lauren's output matches Annie's to propel the team to the podium.

I think Annie’s team will do well, but in my opinion Oslo Blue will be a bigger threat to win the whole thing. , They are being mentioned but they don’t have any pressure on them. Mayhem and Reykjavik does, so I think Oslo will do really well. However, I still think Mayhem will win.

No but I hope it's a neck and neck scenario for the fans. Mayhem (Rich) has so much team experience now and Sam has been training with them for quite awhile as an individual so he knows them well and they know him. They have the communication under pressure as a team (3 of them) down. Annie's team doesn't have that team games experience yet. Being in your comfort zone doing well is one thing ....

I think it will really depend on the programming. Dave's team programming seemed very well rounded for testing teams while other competitions seemed to have a lot of individual work for team events. I'm hoping that the team events test teams and not just individuals on a team and if they do I think Mayhem will still be on top.

Hah, I sleep like Khan.... on the belly with pillows in a similar configuration, and MUST HAVE my feet hanging off. But since I'm 6' 4" tall with long legs, my feet naturally hang off every mattress, even on our oversized Cal King bed. If my feet stay on the mattress, my ankles will hurt.

No. I don't see it. I wish they would be so that mayhem has someone pressuring them but mayhem dominates that arena. Of course it's just an opinion and we may see Annie's team surprise us all and take teams to a whole new level. We shall see. I can't wait. I do see more emphasis on the team division having Annie and her team in there. The more media the better for this particular division, it has been a second thought, and a shitty one in the past, and I hope to see it more forefront.
