I did my postdoc at UPenn in the Virginia Lee / John Trojanowski CNDR lab back in 2002-3. I was convinced that tau was more important than amyloid, but personal reasons intervened, and I left science. That 2006 paper was SO convincing, but It seemed like it was a puzzle piece that was the wrong shape. It didn’t fit right. It’s shocking that someone would fabricate data like that.

That's a powerful topic to be discussed. Thanks for your recommendations at the end of the video.

Thank you for talking about this. You are both very gracious when speaking about the perpetrators. (I’m not). This is so sad. I think it’s happening a lot because of all the financial gain and notoriety that’s gained and the pressure as you said. Not to mention the profit for the pharmaceutical companies. There’s so many medications that don’t cure what they claim to cure… but people hold onto a prescription as hope even when they’re getting worse. Thank you for what you do. The path less traveled of prevention is the better path. I’m glad you both chose that path.

"If the theory behind the MOA is flawed, the medication is of no use". Nature medicine says "there are many highly prescribed drugs without a clear idea of how they work". For the record, Cassava presents their MOA as "Simufilam binds altered FLNA, restores its proper shape/function, disables AB42 signaling via α7nAChR and TLR4." Despite the best efforts of those making financial bets against the company, the phase 3 trials continue.

Given how much these high impact journals charge university libraries for access to these studies (funded by tax payers) it’s really unacceptable that these types of scandals are still being uncovered if this does indeed turn out to be a case of altered images. Nevermind the ethics of derailing research for so many years… I wonder: did Science pay it’s reviewers back then and did the reviewers even have access to and and check the raw data? I’m not sure what the processes were back then?
@jamesc5751 Жыл бұрын
Uhh. Science doesn't pay its reviewers now.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! I appreciate the information about the research and publication processes and their flaws-I wasn’t aware of some of these issues. Definitely time for a change!

Question the data? Isn't this where peer review comes about? Shouldn't these peer reviewers not be trusted going forth? Shouldn't other studies with their names on them be questioned?

Cassava Sciences drug had a poster at CTAD 2021 that said it improved p-tau and other biomarkers but increased Amyloid Beta by 84% from baseline to 6 months, their drug is not using the same approach as Biogen and others.
@TheBrainDocs2 жыл бұрын
That's correct. The focus on this talk was the investigation and whistleblowing by Dr. Schrag criticizing the 2006 Amyloid paper.

I actually studying all different aspects of neurology disorders from autism to fibromyalgia to psychoses Alzheimer’s and dementia I see relations they some way connected where the brain functioning missed connection of brain malfunction of either missing gene or neurones or even nutrition such as vitamin minerals we do eat a lot pasteurised chemicals in our foods. False nutrition that been put in our foods that not easily to brake down and not natural even all organic foods not fully natural we use chemicals to farm plots such as harsh bugs pesticides and harsh fertilisers with harmful chemicals that can silently killing our brain cells causing all kinds illnesses. Scientists would not admit to this kind because they prefer it swept under carpet science these days do rely on harsh chemicals they research these even in medication to in sweets in fizzy pop to pasteurised foods.

I previously studied quantum mechanics I studied what scientist behind that he was on autistic spectrum I also on autism spectrum too I was diagnosed also with other neurological conditions fibromyalgia and psychoses in past I using my own cross research and own experience combination much clearer understanding than standard professional I can see more than a trained scientist that doesn’t have any physical experience I believe I came as I am in this world to shed light like the quantum mechanics scientist did with physics my end is biology and sociology mechanics relation to the mind the brain the sociobiology the mechanics of the brain function is like space patterns and waves and chemicals and fractions similar that’s why I was lead first towards quantum physics something there was showing me a path related to next stages in future I at school never even liked science classes couldn’t get on with school science I never even studied at college either never thought about it. It started when some friends brought a dvd on quantum physics I felt real light bulb moment began I actually understood it perfectly I knew what it meant regarding all connected and effects it was fascinating I even could relate it with my autism I didn’t knew the scientist behind this was also autistic but was amazed. I knew bill gates Microsoft was autistic I never knew any top scientist were autistic it was amazing and I discovered autism has really good intelligence my family did hide that for years I understand we can do many wonderful things and contribute to world with good gifts of talents we all not Raymond I used believe I was I know that was what some wanted me to believe they fear I do better than them I actually no intentions to undermine anyones capabilities I believe we all got own purpose to life no matter how small or how great we all important I like the Buddha too I studied Buddhist life too that was interesting and brilliant for dealing with mental health challenges it was a lot philosophy but in that time period was big thing I remember the monkey mind saying and quantum physics how far down the rabbit hole do you want to go. We can get lost in vast of philosophy of continuum a friend tried that with me saying this made from that that made from that and so on it literally went on and on and on it was starting to hurt my head I couldn’t hold that much I said to him simply everything connected yes and left conversation I sat in nature relaxed enjoying the birds and the sun and blue skys the flowers the trees all colours seeing things as the Buddha I didn’t wrestle with everything I open to mindfulness first time then and appreciated the moment. Every stages of life new experience new challenges.

You guys don’t even understand what you are talking about, this was funny actually. Go back and check please what Simufilam is, what it’s proposed MOA is and how it is completely unrelated to the 2006 nature article or amyloid you were talking about. Do the homework before putting a video and start misguiding viewers. You spoke all about manipulation and funny enough look at what you yourself did… intentional or unintentional?
@TheBrainDocs2 жыл бұрын
Nobody said anything about Simulfilam or Cassava - we are discussing what Matthew Schrag found in his investigation. Did you even listen? Have you even read the Science article? Looks like you are not quite aware of what's going on. Thanks for the comment.
@ankurdahiya46042 жыл бұрын
I did listen, unless the video has been edited since, I say please watch your own video again. However, with your comment it does seem my comment landed where it was intended to. Regarding my knowledge on the subject matter, let’s not debate on that. Things are bigger than you or I when it comes to any life - human or animal.
