About 11 years ago. When you were fighting Antonio Margarito, I also was fighting a battle. A medical battle involving a liver transplant at UCLA. I bought tickets for my family and myself to go see your epic fight, but I fell ill and was unable to make it. My friend recorded the fight for me and I remember watching you and cheering you on. I thought to myself if such a small man can defeat a giant in the welterweight division, surely I can survive this. I did, and now I am rendering care to my fellow man as an RN. Thank you Manny! Thank you for inspiring millions around the globe. You are the epitome of the word Champion!

@@enzime321 Why because he thought some of those fights he won. Horn fight. Ugas fight was close and he was telling his corner in the 3rd round he had cramps. Before he spoke to the media afterwards. With fit legs he would have destroyed ugas. Mayweather ran and hugged and barely did anything. He got beat fair and square by Marquez after a 4th fight. Something that is rare to have that many. Heck no fighter wants to lose, but he came back time and time again from loses, the mark of a champion and man. That's mental strength. In his prime he was unmatched. End of.

He really was the last standing giant of his generation. Beating legends in his prime and beating primes when he was already a legend. It’s heartbreaking to see him hang up his gloves but age gets to the best of us. He was a genius in his craft. A rags to riches guy. A kid who started boxing to help put food in his family’s table to eventually holding world titles in 8 different weight divisions. A man who could make his country’s crime rate drop to 0% every time he fights. There will never be another Manny Pacquiao. People could say other fighters “schooling his ass” or “Peds” or here and there but in the end, what does it all matter? He’s an 8 division world champion, what are they gonna do? Take that from him? I doubt it. A Legend will always be a legend all the power to Pacquiao and his future choices. He helped himself and his family get to where they are right now: a comfortable life. Thanks for the years of entertainment champ. You’re a true GOAT

Man this is heartbreaking… I have few memories living in the Philippines as a kid, but the one memory that always stood out was the parties that were held when you were fighting. I swear we had entire neighborhoods gather around the one person’s house who owned a tv. Always great food and great company at these parties. I was 8 when I moved to the US and everything was different and overwhelming, but the one thing that never changed was our watch parties whenever you fought. Though they weren’t as big we always invited all our Filipino friends to come watch you fight. We would get so loud every time you landed a punch. It truly is the end of an era. I will miss watching you fight, having all my friends and family cheer you on, but I hope nothing but the best for you… You we’re truly an inspiration, not just as a boxer but as a person.

What hurts more is Pacquiao saying homosexuals are worse then animals to millions of fans. Senator Pacquiao makes a boxing commission bill forcing Philippine citizens to pay him a retirement pension?? Greedy and evil taking poor citizens tax money for his retirement.

"Goodbye Boxing" after much time has passed, that line still hurts to hear from someone i watched and admired. How he rose from nothing into the legend and icon that he was and still is today. You are the greatest boxer and fighter to me Manny, thank you for all the great memories.
