Worth noting, it ain't "political correctness", it's professionalism/sportsmanship on a public facing position. But that said, i do agree, I miss the lack of professionalism in the fgc, it made things a hell of a lot more explosive and hilarious(though it did also have it's fair share of bad moments too).

Nah, they arent that far apart. there will always be at least 10-15 characters that are usable in tournaments. Zero, Viper, Vergil, Magneto, Doom, Wolverine, Morrigan, Spencer, Nova, Wesker, Dante.... they all have the tools to be usable no matter how the game develops. We might see more top tier, but top tier doesnt only consist of 5 characters. (and dont forget all the other characters that will get picked just for their assists)

Very few characters are considered usable in UMvC3 is you wanna win majors and stuff. Also if we considered Clockwork in MvC2, 12 characters were/are usable in MvC2. Strider/Doom was a nice combination with the ouroboros/molecular shield pressure. Yeah, 12. Bet the amount of usable characters in UMvC3 is pretty similar to the one on MvC2.

It´s a shame that only around 10 characters were considered usable (some with its risks) back in the day. 5 characters are the lords of the game and 5 are good assists, the rest are useless thought seeing mid-tier and low-tier matches in this game are really fun to see too. This sparked the interest of getting MvC2 in PSN, playing that, even alone, should be crack fun.
