When I think of rally. I automatically think of the group b cars. Especially the sport quattro's.

I recently just built mine a few days ago, the 1999 impreza monte carlo TT02, haven't received the transmitter yet so I haven't ran it as of yet to test how fast it goes. So much fun to build... my upgrades were *TT02 68T high speed gear set *TT02 oil gear diff unit (500k front, 5k rear) *Yeah Racing full aluminum conversion kit which includes oil filled shocks & ball bearings (not a cheap kit lol) *HobbyWing EZrun Max10 G2 80amp esc W/ G3 3652SD 5400kv motor & OTA programmer *AGFRC 19kg LP servo w/ servo programmer * Radiolink RC8X transmitter

I'm part of an RC club and we do offroad racing... I'm working on getting together stuff to make a portable timing loop bridge and course for pop up parking lot racing... The class im worming on is a "sport touring class" , any tub chassis shaft drive car with an RTR OR kit included brushed motor, or a possible brushless option... any rubber tires on spoked wheels, 2s lipo, and 190 or 200mm bodies that represent real life sports cars ... but otherwise pretty open rules... Would be open to Tamiya cars, Kyosho Fazer, and a number of other cars, with some decent rtr options and lots of kits and bodies available... Then going to encourage people to get together and bring a class of offroad cars to burn up old tires, like 4 or 6 short course trucks, or 4wd buggies all show up the same race and finish off old tires...lol maybe eventually add other classes if people take up interest...

Love this kit. Saw pt 2 first and watched this next. Great tips. Thanks for showing your mods. I did those too with ours. My only critique… and this really isn’t something you would do differently considering you are a vendor… but man… while I dig Tekin products… when each piece is more than the whole kit… lol. Well at least the motor is under $125. lol But well, this is a Tekin vid so I get it. Great job though. Really enjoyed your build and great job explaining what you were doing. Thank you for a great tutorial! 👍👍👍

The kit usually is less than half of the whole project. I see cheap kits as an opportunity to spend more money on good running gear!

Building this same kit now, wanted to upgrade some parts as you did. I just installed tatt-020 fluid diffs with no issues. The universal joints are a different story. I was told by yeah racing to use the tc1 tatt-030 u-joints which seem a lil long and bind up rendering the suspension travel utterly useless. They also recommended I try tatt-015 as you did but use the tatt-056 cups. Did you do this or notice slop in the cups? I hesitate to do another trial and error any help from anyone appreciated.

Does this model have an active braking system? I'm looking for my first RC car, but I want a very complete one.
@TekinRacing Жыл бұрын
This particular one does not, but there are receiver/radio systems that have stability control that will offer sort of an active braking setup along with a steering gyro. I don't think it's needed, really.

Great video. What gearing did you end up with?
@TekinRacing2 жыл бұрын
20T pinion seems pretty decent in SPEC mode, ended up 22T and running 15 degrees of Boost for extra roost!

Awesome video, great to see the classic Subaru! I am in the proces of converting my TT-02 Nissan Motul GT-R to a rally car right now. What do you think of the Tamiya Rally Block tyres? There are some great videos out there on this topic, but yours is very clear and very well put together. Nice to see the chassis cover set, seems to be a must have part. Keep up the great work and thanks.
@TekinRacing2 жыл бұрын
The Rally Blocks are definitely hard, I think a softer and taller profile tire will help soak up the rough terrain better. But these definitely throw some roost!

How are you finding the 60mm shocks and with the combined spacers? I'm currently building the same car and thinking of getting the YR 55mm's but you have a point about more clearance for 60mm's. Are you happy with the 60mms? Does all that extra clearance not clash with the shell?
@TekinRacing Жыл бұрын
60mm is about as long as physically possible with the stock shock towers. The front arms won't really allow much more travel downward with my current setup and up travel is great, haven't noticed hitting the body anywhere.
