Cars done!
So let's tear it completely apart. I ordered the full "gasser" kit from Speedway Motors earlier this week. New front sub frame with a heavy wall axle and disc brakes. Once the parts show up I'm thinking the car should go back together in a hurry. them we can make room for the solid lifter 327 th350 combo. Should be wicked!
Enjoy my struggle, tearing this sucker apart

Yea, people didn’t used to drive as far or as fast before there were interstate highways. 55 mph was about it. And a 100 mile trip was a long trip in the 50s.😮

If at first you don't succeed, break out the Gas Axe!!! I have worked on cars with absolutely too many bolts holding the Fenders on. 78 AMC Matador Coupe for one, and it was the ugliest car I ever worked on too. Well, maybe it tied for that title with the Pacer, another AMC dog with fleas!

@@timemerson4162 You can guarantee that ....(unless whatever was hermetically sealed)....that your project will require fasteners from that era, just figure those in. After being a paint& bodyman for 30+yrs.. I still have coffee cans of model specific nuts bolts ect...trim dodads clips . There gold sometimes my friend,to the right person. Plus dealing with stuck rusted shoddy butchered previously stuff you just kinda giggle and carry on like it's a nice spring day!! 👍🏁🏁🏁👍

An early John Cusak comedy by Savage Steve Holland.... classic flick and when you see this car all of a sudden it's like "WTF!! W:HERE DID THIS COME FROM!!" well Hollywood in the early 80's when some of these cars were still out there for chump change but... check it out... if you did a DD Tractor paint version of this car... my new fave muscle car to look at ... well it's right up there with the Cuda from the Phantasm flicks.. it's cooler than that Cuda and... well its at th every least the dead nuts tied for 1st place. Ya .... you forgot the drain pan and who hasn't that does this. I like you, say this is a first as I never messed with a bolt on subframe job. I sure do like that it does unbolt tho. Just my thinking and heaven forbid should you argre to my idea... go with a tube front end on the nova or no go. Then with new possibilities of doing a big block or LS as in biggest one they make, have all the room for headers, set engine where ever you like it and then make those fenders agree with your plan. Plus if ya just put it where ya want it or real close to where its going to allow fenders to just bolt in, I am thinking a tilt front end. I guess since I don't know that the mustang frontend would allow you to make fenders, tires, etc, fit to the right spacing. Tilt is not cheap when done right for sure but oh so much easier to get to the different things when full blown race mode. I had gassers with tilt front ends and the dang things drove fine on the highway because we didn't trailer them to the track. I would of give a arm almost for say a "IDIDT" steering column. Automatics were not near anything nice like todays selection so it was four speeds and scatter shields. Brent is doing that old chevy right now and I don't remember the name of the frontend he used out of his scrap collection. Wasn't BMW but something in those foreign car lineups. I am so dang sick right now with being on hospice and fed the stuff drug addicts love. I personally hate drugs and dying just wasn't on my wishlist. The stuff they used to make me feel okay in surgery took out the kidneys and ya just don't look good in orange.... this ain't chevy's hugger orange either. If I can, I am going to try to live at least another year and lets say, its a lot shorter than wishing you were old enough to get the drivers licence or some other thing thats a year off. Just too soon to go

Was more of a fan of the other direction but that is just my opinion ( not a gasser fan) but your names on the title make it yours. I know Summit makes a heater for drag cars that has mutiple outlets so you will still have a defroster and a floor heater and be able to not have to deal with a stock heater core and free up space for electronics or smuggle Moon pies across the border.
