A compilation of my favourite maps and mods for Teardown, featuring large explosions, and smaller but cool looking destruction. And massive baby men.

@@selohcin unfortunately those improvements don't actually lend well to real time physics. physics calculations can't really utilize multithreading from my understanding, and while frame drops are expected in this kind of game that kind of behavior would be a hard sell to consoles where frame drops are a thing that are avoided at all costs as they focus on creating a smooth experience for players. the most promising thing i've seen in terms of technology that could bring large scale real time physics calculations to mainstream gaming is using ai to create optimized physics calculations that are much easier to run.

Its not surprising, game companies are there to make money. this is not the early days of gaming where game companies were run by people passionate about games anymore. people found what works and stuck with it, afraid of change and not meeting investor expectations. Teardown is an amazing game but I wish teardown had multithreading because this game only uses a single thread So that leaves a lot of cores/treads unused which could be used to produce much higher performance You wouldn’t require more than 2 or 4 treads but 2 or 4 threads would be kinda difficult from a coding standpoint but amazing from a performance perspective I hope this will come to the game in the future

Still waiting for minecraft with this engine, with giant spiders n stuff. Also, Just a small critique: Some things should be crumbling much easier. For example, when the tall building fell that should have just become rubble. Or the tower of stone, that should have just fallen apart. But still some of the best destruction out there. However, Just think about Red Faction: Guerilla. Those buildings crumbled so satisfyingly and realistically.

god thing we have you philip, if i tried doing any of this on my poor 480 i'm pretty sure it would just combust. but i still get to see the beautiful destruction thanks to you

this game is utterly addicting, but the lag that can occur during destruction can be unbearable (hence why you would need to speed up the footage) either way, great sandbox game.

8:26 this reminds me of when I was a kid and made bridges out of toilet paper, and then i placed small toy cars on them and used drops of water to weaken the paper so that in the end it colapsed.

Reminds me of times when i was starting up Red faction guerrilla just to go to destruction mod for few minutes. It's like playing with toys but for adults 😂

Disappointed that you didn’t post some of the mods used in the description 2kliksphilip, this is the reason why I prefer 3kilksphilip’s video instead of yours. It’s almost like it’s the same person but different content!

I know it's a performance optimisation but having structures not buckle and bend under their own weight makes the physics feel floaty and unrealistic.

But make sure to change your resolution to the right setting if you get it, I have a 1080p monitor and the game was really laggy because the game was on 3840p, but when I changed it to the right setting it was fine
