Hey I’m just wondering what was wrong with your transmission? Because on my quad I I can’t shift into third or forth it goes into a grindy false neutral thing.

Man, I hate to hear you're having problems. These freaking machines are nearly impossible to keep running because it's always one thing or another that's breaking. On this particular failure (the tranny on this quad has broken a couple of times), I had a broken shift fork. Starting at about 6:23 you'll see me pull out the broken shift fork. The other two shift forks were worn and abused as well. I'm pretty sure this happened from 'riding the shifter' - I was on a rough sand track and didn't pay enough attention to my shift foot. I was probably hitting the shifter too hard as well. The previous time my tranny failed, I had a couple of broken transimission gears. I believe 3rd and 4th gears. My mechanic told me that the 2004 TRX450R (not sure about the other years) tranny had weak gears and could be expected to fail after 10 or 20 "hard" hours. So, while I was in there this time, I went ahead and replaced some gears just in case (not to mention all of the internal bearings).

@@BrokenToeKnee hey I commented about a month ago and I just finally took the motor out and split the case. Nothing in the transmission looks terrible besides some wear on the shift forks. When your bike couldn’t shift into third or forth what had to be replaced when it got fixed?

@@itz_bboucher9136 This time around it was a broken shift fork. On a previous failure, it was a gear that had broken (it was obvious that the gear was broken because the gear had the dogs broken off of it)
