WOW, I have a history of travel trailers. I started with one I won’t name. It was what I could afford, but hopelessly badly designed. The water tank fell out as I started a trip, it leaked. I traded it in for a NuCamp T@B 320 which was perfect but I traded it for a class C which I realized I would not be able to maintain. I consigned it: sold it. Sold my Chevy Express Van. I bought a Subaru Forester which won’t tow much and miss the T&B . The vestibule has lots of what I loved. The windows open out so protect from modest rain. It’s well built and well designed. I like that I could sit in it without being in bed. This gives me hope that I can keep my Subaru. And still camp. Thanks for your videos.

Thank You. My hope is to give fellow campers enough info so they can pick a good choice. I don't like "Puff Piece" videos that are more about selling than usable information. You are right the door windows don't let in rain. Due to the round shape (tapers on top) the portholes need to be closed in heavy rain. The ventilation in this trailer cant be beat. My Subi does well with this trailer but I beefed up the springs a tiny bit. Vistabule has a separate shop that produces the wood parts. They expanded that shop and are bringing a new CNC machine on line which will increase production in a significant way. All that takes time.They did not commit to any dates but were very clear wait times will be reduced (not sure when). They can not control supply shortages from other vendors impacted by Corona virus. Vistabule needs to come out with an overland edition. Get that thing some big tires and some ground clearance.

They could put some huge tires on this to get more height. The usual limitation is the tow vehicle. My Subi Outback has 8.75 inches of clearance. Visti has 10 inches of clearance. I think you can increase that to 12" with an option. When I look at a jacked up truck - the drive train is still the limitation and few are over 12". All depends on your needs. Check the night exploring in this video. I am towing when I shot this. I was on the same roads as pumped up pickup trucks. I am not disagreeing. Awesome tour Cosmo. I ended up buying the Vintage Trailer Works XTC (Extreme Cub; teardrop with off-road capabilities). 3500 lbs axle capacity & 30" tires. They've built over 500 trailers since beginning 7-8 years ago. Could you do a video about loading your trailer to maximize tongue weight in order to safely tow? I've been told to load with a bias toward the tongue for safer towing-stability. Would love to hear your thoughts. My drive back home today at empty weight was a little scary. Thanks for all you do. I'm getting more educated with every video you do!

Hi Barry! Excellent choice on the axle for off road. You did not mention your tow vehicle. Tongue weight is critical. It appears that those quarter turn door locks allow someone on the outside to lock in someone on the inside. Can they be released from the inside?

Good point Ben. First thing i tested. Yes they can be opened from inside. They really work well. I am surprised other trailer makers are not doing something similar. On those doors with grenade pins you will lose the pins. It would be better to just install magnets inside the wood there and have them attracted to a piece of steel or another magnet in the door frame to keep them shut.

Looks pretty good, although i would remove those sliding doors in the galley. You are cooking and need something from the fridge with the cutting board out? Looks like a pain. Otherwise love it!

Hi Dave! One or all of the sliding doors can be removed. They flex and you can pop them out. To your point you cant access everything all the time without some coordination. Keep this in mind when you look at other kitchens. Especially slide out stove models. I have seen none that work as well as this kitchen! @@CosmoWeems Thanks Cosmo. I like the beer chat idea lol. I had written to escapod because I have a 2018 outback 3.6, which has a 2700 lb tow rating and the escapod is rated for 3000. They confirmed they wouldn’t recommend towing with my outback. Now I’m considering the outback wilderness for my next vehicle. I think I’d be happy with either teardrop . I’ll have to check them out in person to get a better idea . Take care,

Wow!~ this is sweet! It makes me want to drive up to Wisconsin and order one~ I will surely tell them you sent me~ Plus - what a lovely color! Love everything about it. This thing is made like a 'sound ship'.......I've researched so many and frankly, this one is King in my view. Wanted to ask you about ordering it with the propane furnace. Do you recommend that? Since I have a nice 120 v heater, I would probably just use that. I'm wondering how did you run your heater in that review you did awhile back? I only have a 500w Jackery. Guess I'd have to upgrade to a 1500 or so but even then wouldn't run it TOO long. I guess I may as well order the propane furnace. Being so frugal though, not sure I would really run it that much. Just wanted your opinion.

Hello Susan. I agree Vistabule is a top maker. Full of features and quality. I am off grid so I use the Propex propane heater most of the time. Its difficult to run electric heat off grid with a Jackery or other battery. It takes too long to recharge the battery. Electric heat is great if your can plug into grid power. A quick calculation to see what is possible is to divide the watts a heater uses into the wattage of the battery. For instance if you have a 500 watt heater and you plug it into a Jackery 1500 it will run an hour and a half or 1500/500=1.5 I hope this helps. 𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘! =𝓒𝓸𝓼𝓶𝓸 ✅

I'm also thinking of the standard silver trailer but unsure the batwings/awning color to get. Most are very colorful, and the teardrop already stands out. And do you have the 3M rock guard on the front? I know you go off road a lot---wondering if it's worth the price? Thanks so much

Great news. The Visti is the most enjoyable trailer out there. I picked up the silver grey awnings but sent them back and exchanged for blue. I think the blue looks nicer. Cant help with the bat wing color. I like my tan color. I am partial to forest colors and would probably get the silver or a green. But thats me. Some like bold colors. If I were doing it over (always tempted to get a new model) I would get the 3M rock guard but I have no idea how well it works and its pretty pricey. If you are going on lots of dirt and gravel I think its a good idea. Some people put rubber mud guards on the tow vehicle to help prevent kicking up debris on the trailer. Keep me posted. I am not sure how long the wait is but Bert talked about doubling the size of the shop that does the wood work which should be coming on line in spring or summer which should shorten the wait a lot! I did a zoom meeting with them, and the salesman said he can tell the people who don't have the 3M rock guard because their Vestibules' show the wear/dings when brought in for service. So, appreciate your opinion on this. He told me 15months wait time. Looking forward to new videos!

Hey Cosmo, Lorne & Brenda from PEI Canada! We have been greatly influenced by watching your KZbin videos and this fall we bought a Car-Go Liberty Teardrop made in Quebec. Certainly not near as great as the Vistabule but it was affordable and available! You sent Our current vehicle a 2021 Forester is adequate as a tow vehicle but I would feel better having more towing capacity and as the resale on the Forester is very high right now we are looking at trading up to a 2022 Outback. You sent Are you using the XT-Turbo model? Were you able to get a 7 pin connector wired in, if show, will you show a photo of where it was wired in? What did you use for an electric brake assembly, it looks like Sube does not have a plug to fit assembly. You sent Any advice you can provide is greatly appreciated Cosmo, keep on camping!

Hi Pix. I enjoyed a great bicycle tour on PEI and loved the potatoes and muscles! I checked the Liberty web site and did not see the weight of the trailer and the tongue weight. I towed the Vistabule (1500 pounds loaded + 200 pound tongue weight) for 4 years. No issues. The Outback is a better match for me. Outback has larger brakes. My Outback is not a turbo and its a 4 cylinder and I am happy about that with the high gas prices. I get 20MPG towing and 36 not towing on highway. 24-28 around town. My Outback came with a 4 pin connector. I had it converted to a 7 pin output at a place the services commercial trailers for landscapers. Was not expensive to do that. I also had it wired to charge the trailer while I drive (which is critical for my needs). It looks like the wired into the 4pin output that came with the Subi and added a few connections - probably for the trailer charging and trailer brake for the trailer brake. Do check Consumer Reports review of the Subaru. Not sure which model but they gave one a do not buy recommendation due to complicated electronics. Overall my Subi and the prior one have been trouble free and I took them in some less traveled roads for sure! What does your trailer weigh? What is the tongue weight? Port holes are unnecessary in my opinion and all those usb charging locations ?By the bed and in the outside galley is all that is needed. Your not in a 40 room mansion. 2 Nite lights is nice, but have switch low for when your laying down you aren't reaching to turn it on. Reading light- have a magnetic strips and a wired 12 volt mobile magnetic base light. Refrig to the side opposite full water tank . It will balance weight and you can leave it pulled out when cooking. Fishing gear and rifle storage. Surely you can create front to back tunnel? With those quarter turn door locks , I will sneak up at nite upon you, lock you in , and steal all i can grab from you. Add some inside knobs to unlock. Car trunks have a safety release inside. Really very nice , but don't over think convenience. .Your camping. P.S. Hand grenade pull pins - drill two holes in your slide out tray to place the pins so you don't misplace them while in use,

Hi Tim. Thank You for your comments. Good points I failed to address in the video. Vistabule is the best ventilated teardrop on the market. I camp off grid and A/C is not an option. The portholes and door windows provide 4 opening windows. Plus the roof vent and front ventilation ports. I camp in the hottest weather and value those features. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGLboJaMo9-lrac. Switch reach is perfect. The rig converts to a couch and it makes sense. Lighting is superb (IMO). Small spots draw 90MA of current which is almost nothing, When doing tasks and projects in the trailer at night I like the big lights too (250MA each). Fridge in center Fresh water on one side and grey water on the other is how all makers are doing it because it rides well. Fridge comes out. Sometimes I take a cooler when it makes sense. Sometimes I fill the huge space with food. Totally flexible as is. The door 1/4 turns can be opened from the inside. No creeps where I camp. The pins have a ball at the end. You can pull them out of when you slide it out and feel the ball resistance stop and leave it in place. Vistabule thinks it thru very carefully before they pilot an idea, test it and implement it.
