I absolutely love my ms400, been running a 20 inch bar. Completely stock yet. My ms 661 stock air filter was horrible. Max flo fixed that. Even though I'm starting out with the firewood gig I'm so happy with both saws.

10 years ago I gave 400 for my Stihl, 310, only thing i done to it is buy a few chains here and there, but this year I bought the very first air filter , I'm sure it was will over do, but always ran good with a 20 inch bar since i bought it 10 years ago, on cold start 3 pulls tell you hear the pop and then half choke let it ran wid3 open fro about 4 or 5 sec and hit the throttle and pull down and it will idle all day, other then that done nothing to it, i cut about 5 or 6 cords a year for my self and I sure thats nothing but its 10 years old and never been in the shop

Tim what about the MS 391 being at 64.1 cc I have a 25 inch bar for mine and it runs a full chisel 33rs chain no problem it is cheaper than the MS 400C the MS 391 with a 25 inch bar is $677.17 USD before tax probably a little bit lighter than the MS 400C
@mr.fridggyyy58263 жыл бұрын
391 is a farm and ranch saw if I remember correctly. So that doesn't appeal to Profesional users as much as the Pro Line of saws. My freind has a 391, and it does the job for what he does.

Thanks for replying, I'm in the process of buying a saw ,tossing up between 362 or a 400 ,hence my oiling worries! Just cutting a trailer load at a time I believe a 362 would be sufficient! Its just sometimes u see a "big" log a 4 to 6 foot stump were I'm thinking a 362 might struggle a bit ??? What's u opinion, kindly advise, I thank you in advance 😊 Gunter
