This happened to my 2015 Ecoboost mustang . My damage was worse . While taking apart the engine one of the cam bolts was completely loose . Stock engine , never been torn into. Pretty frustrating as it only has 30500 miles . Darton sleeved built block going in now. Sp63 has been great supply of parts.

Don't know what connecting rod or block it's got, since the generation was starting in 2019, but my 2022 Focus ST also comes with a 2.3L Ecoboost and I'm not gonna go crazy with it, just thinking about a bigger intercooler and a tune for either 330HP or 360HP. I'm going to assume stuff like this and what other's are mentioning in the comments shouldn't be a concern at those levels right? The RS had 350 HP stock afterall.

Sir, your work is good, and my question to you is what is the possibility or reason for breaking the piston or the piston arm in this way, and does the type of fuel, oil, or pressure on the engine affect or cause this condition, and if there is another reason, can you tell us about it? Thank you

@@Benbenford ecoboomer here, I can give you my opinion on what destroys these motors. the block has cooling passages that allow the cylinder bore to move. this distortion binds the piston and the rod snaps making for a nice new window remodel. lesser is the detonation problem that can be caused by oil. detonation can take out the ring land allowing oil and fuel to swap places. smoke show with out the boom. Ask me how I know about both...

Damn people must drive your ecoboost like it’s a damn v8. I have a 2015 stock at 125k miles and even tho It’s quick I still keep in mind that it’s a small engine and small engines don’t take punishment to well. I’ve seen peoples videos and say to myself I would never be pushing my ecoboost like that.
@Dwayneff
@Dwayneff Жыл бұрын
Are they pushing it over 100 mph? I was thinking of getting a ecoboost 2016 so I have a little more power than my focus which never goes over 90 mph. Even then the rpm never goes over 3k. I was gonna get a mustang ecoboost to hopefully push sometimes 110-115, if the engine will boom then no, I would never take the mustang over 90 mph on the highway.

WRONG lol 440whp stock 2.3 RS block with NX2 on E30 for well over a year no issues with more runs than I can count. Get a good tune, monitor your tune always, maintenance (inspect plugs often), don't drive hard till oil is well above 120f, know how to drive, you can race it but non of that 6th gear at 45mphand then youre stepping on it 😭 or doing 80mph exit ramp down shifting 😭😭 so your cylinder is getting even hotter with high rpms but not enough fuel cooling is since you are downshifting within giving it gas to cool it,, ect ...most of the time ppl break the car but y'all still have no clue what I just said 🙄
