A little tip when it comes to using a spot weld cutter. Use a center punch to each and every spot weld, when cutting spot welds get yourself a cap full of cutting oil and dip the tip of thr cutter in the oil. Thr bit will last you longer and it will cut better and faster.

@bobroberts23716 жыл бұрын
The problem is he should have put this on a frame bench for a rough pull before removing bent metal. This way metal you are keeping gets bent back into shape. Without doing this you will end up with a mess trying to get welded seams into position. Also making door / trunk gaps even will require loads of filler. Have a look at the channel Arthur tussik for someone that can really work metal.
@89ludeawakening16 жыл бұрын
I do agree about about putting the car on a frame machine, but how does that have anything to do with the original comment?
@bobroberts23716 жыл бұрын
The top comment spoke about how others were doubting Chris and they just want to hate. The point it, professionals including my self have said this is a hack build and those with little skill say what he is doing is just fine. There is a difference between someone saying that paint colors could be different , paint work a bit better and having metal randomly welded back together. For sub $ 1,000 extra this car could have been put back together in factory condition. At this point it is a hack and has lost $ 10,000 + in value. If he left the stock seats and didn't get a flare kit, the $ would be there and it would have been a good series. Have a look at the repair, this is the way to fix something correctly. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXSQdJR7gKlris0 BMW X5. The quarter panel replacement. on the channel Arthur tussik
@89ludeawakening16 жыл бұрын
The top comment is talking about the people doubting him and saying it will cost more to fix the car than it would to buy one in good condition. That has nothing to do with a frame machine. And the comments saying he should've put it on a machine before removing panels are pretty much nonexistent other than yours.

I re-watched it, he didn’t point out the knuckle. Maybe it just looks weird because all of the other linkages are bent.

I like how you put a jackstand inside the quickjack. Really smart, I never would have thought of that.

Chris, this build is cool and will fun to watch but you're next build should be another custom project. Keep pushing your skills and creativity to the next level. Do you think you will be happy rebuilding cars after creating something unique with the 240z? I'd love to see you create something mostly from the ground up with tube frame chassis and carbon fiber/ fiberglass body. Building custom turbo systems with custom manifold/exhaust and intake plenum. Designing parts that are 3d printed and CNCed. Love to see some carbon fiber work as well. ( repair the A pillar you broke/make fiberglass mold/ create carbon replacements) I love to take on new projects and see if I can fabricate the solution and I love when you do as well. Would love to see you keep leveling your skill up!

Chris, not gonna lie, haven't been here the longest, I came across your channel when you started you 2j brz build, and I must say, you are 100% the best channel and the best person I've ever came across on youtube. It really inspired me to get a project car myself. It could be a pain in the ass sometimes, but hey, that's the fun in building a car with your friends. So I got an BMW 518i 1991. I'm really excited to start working on that car once I have a place to work on it. lol. Anyways, just wanted to thank you for the work you put in to this, and the great content you put out for us. Keep em' coming.

This is the first time I've heard a content creator just come out and be this frank about how the system works and have it disappoint them. I think Twitch is another platform that is becoming a bummer in the same way more and more each day. I really appreciate the sincerity. It says a lot about your character and makes me think less about how well off you are and the whole are you deserving of that success mentality I can find myself in. It turns out being earnest and not egotistical about your success in a fickle system works wonders. None of this is to say you don't work very hard. It was your work ethic on the Evora that really almost compelled disbelief. Any feelings that I had about the content being middling from the interim projects was quashed after the 240 build. Right now I think you're at the best you've ever been which I think is a great thing for a DIYer and probably one of your personal goals I would assume. I don't know what compelled me to type an essay, I never comment on videos but I just wanted to convey my respect and wish you the best in whatever projects you choose to endeavor.

This project is pretty damn ambitious. I toyed with this idea myself, but I personally need the space and the funds to do something like this first. I'll do it in the near future. Excited to see how this turns out. Came here for the Datsun, but gonna stay a while, because you are demonstrating for the common folk that we could do something similarly, with a well thought out budget. I am so far amazed. Congrats on the 500k as well!

KZbin is a tough nut to crack. Nice job on 500k. I'm going to fall short of my 500 goal by years end, but youtube is also about managing expectations while grinding out content. Keep at it, 1m is sooner than you think.
