Sam is a real treasure! I sure hope you guys all realize that he is a true asset to have around and treat him as such, not just a meme to put in the videos. I would have went with a hydraulic roller cam with Morel lifters . You have to keep lots of Zinc additive to keep those BBC flat tappets from rounding off ( or use Amsoil Z-Rod oil after breaking in with their break-in oil). Can't wait to see it mudding !

Most people have no clue why you have to “break in” a flat tappet cam. The only way the cam lobes are lubricated is from oil sling off the crankshaft. That’s why the 2k rpm is so important… To produce enough “sling” to lubricate the lobes as the lifters and lobes seat to one another… 👍
@robwigglezz9442 жыл бұрын
Unless your brand new lifters are literally flat and no matter what you do, you're already screwed
@frankensteincreations47402 жыл бұрын
@@robwigglezz944 yeah… another thing not many people know… they’re slightly round on the bottom. And the cam lobes are angled, not square. This is to make the lifters spin. When they quit spinning is when it wipes the lobe out 👍 all reasons why I run a hydraulic roller lol

What’s the valve spring pressure? Flat tappet cams can’t run a high pressure spring. 120-130 psi closed pressure is ok. On double springs it’s recommended to run the outer spring only during break in then add the center spring after
