Still airing on the side of full throttle shifts that's done the majority of these issues. Piston 4 closest to the gearbox first piston to take the jerk through the flywheel. The det came after the bearing spun, the compression and timing changed on that cylinder when the rod started knocking.

Dude considering they were pushing 730-770 bhp through this completely stock motor, I better stop hearing "oH bUt YoUr HeAdGaSkEtS" when I pull up to a meet in my STI lmao. These things get so much hate about reliability and tbh its such an underrated motor. 30+ pounds and 600 wheel out of ANYTHING is no joke, let alone a stock motor.

My sti had a leaky turbo drain line aswell. I thought it was the same spot you were talking about but once I pulled the turbo it was the fitting that bolts to the turbo.

How did it even spin a bearing during that pull on the track? Did you just over rev it? Also make sure when you fix that turbo oil drain line, that you put some RTV on the pipe where it meets the head. It generally shouldnt leak without RTV but if you put some on it probably never will again.

It looks like detonation was happening on all Four of those cylinders with how hammered the rod bearings all are, the oil also looks very dark and dirty, I'd be uncomfortable with it in any EJ or FA engine, Maybe lowering your OCI interval may be beneficial.

Cylinder 4 has always has had heat failure issues. The aftermarket recirculation fix is ineffective. The blocked water alleys is to blame. Got yer $$ worth!!!
