Tears For Fears Pale Shelter Bass Cover

Tears for Fears are an English New Wave band formed in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. Founded after the dissolution of their first band, the mod-influenced Graduate, they were initially associated with the New Wave synthesizer bands of the early 1980s but later branched out into mainstream rock and pop, which led to international chart success.
Their platinum-selling debut album, The Hurting, reached number one on the UK Album Chart, while their second album, Songs from the Big Chair, reached number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, achieving multi-platinum status in both the UK and the United States.[1] Their second album contained two Billboard Hot 100 number ones: "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World"', the latter winning the Brit Award for Best British Single in 1986. Following the release of their third platinum-selling album, The Seeds of Love (1989), Smith and Orzabal parted company in 1991, though Orzabal retained the Tears for Fears name throughout the remainder of the 1990s. The duo re-formed in 2000 and released an album of new material, Everybody Loves a Happy Ending, in 2004. To date, Tears for Fears have sold over 25 million albums worldwide, including more than 8 million in the U.S.
Pale Shelter written by Roland Orzabal and sung by bassist Curt Smith was originally the band's second single release in early 1982 - called at that time "Pale Shelter (You Don't Give Me Love)" - but would not find chart success until a reissue (with a different mix) the following year. It eventually became the third hit taken from their debut LP The Hurting (1983) and third UK Top 5 chart hit, peaking at number 5. As with the previous two singles, the song also reached the Top 40 in several other countries.

Yes, if you can locate the tab you used for this one, I’d be forever grateful! The only 2 I can find aren’t played this way, and don’t sound right. Yours is the most accurate by far! I have loved this song for years and years. I used to own every single different 7” of this vinyl, plus a double signed sleeve one, and two 12” versions. Always been hunting the unique Canadian mix, that one is supposedly in key of F major or D minor. I think this version is in A minor…

Great song choice. I Really like this group. If you ever read there Bio, the reason they parted ways for a bit was they thought their Music was boring. WTF. i think they are exceptional musicians and have a style all to there own. They are the 80's in a nut shell. LIKE!!!! Cheers.

Great record. You play the walking part really nice with a good feel, alas you do not embellish between the notes with your own style but play as heard without much expression. You also miss the slap part at the end of the record. But still well done.
