I remember that when Shout came out in 1984, I recorded the single and the maxi (extended) version on tape one directly after the other from the radio. One night, I sat on my bed wirh headphones on and listened to both versions again and again and again... a thousand times. I couldn't believe how anyone could make such a brilliant song. What a true gem for all ages and decades. 31 years old here and so happy I had amazing parents who fell in love listening to Songs from the Big Chair on repeat and had this one in constant rotation throughout my childhood. Funny and almost fate-like that my now husband and I fell in love to the same album. SHOUT out to anybody from the 80s that got to experience this absolute classic firsthand brand-new in the 80s. I remember this song so well. Just listening to it again now at the great age of 69 I just realised that both these lovely men had EXACTLY THE SAME SINGING VOICE . The exact SAME voice in two different people, just incredible.
