It's very nice to see Sue after all of these years just being herself and revealing her charming personality and sense of humor. It turns out that this beauty of a lady is quite a character as well as a real graphics professional which we already knew. Bravo Sue!

Finally! We get what I always hoped for. More than a fleeting glimpse of the enigmatic and elusive beauty that is Sue Francis.

Just started going back through the older Teatimes and wow, here's one with Sue Francis. She is amazing. Besides being beautiful, she's also brilliant. She was doing cutting-edge computer graphics when most people barely knew what a computer was. As she said, it wasn't like she could go to some school and learn it either, she had to learn as she went. Simply brilliant.

It's easy to overlook how much the graphic team added to the show!

Husband and I just finished Season 4, 2nd time around. We really appreciate the graphics of the buildings, pottery, walls, landscapes. So happy to watch Time Team today.

I love to hear these stories Tim. Many thanks for the videos. I watched TT avidly and always remember Sue as the cool and glamorous woman working in the tent, who didn't say much on camera as far as I recall and looked slightly out of place amongst the muddy 'crusties' as Tim called them 😊. And I will add she is still cool and glamorous! Great stories once again from behind the scenes.

I never thought about it that way, because I only found TT in about 2017, but she and Steve were real pioneers. I could watch geophys evolving during the course of the series because John was so front-of-the-camera, but CG sort of appeared fully formed in the context of the final edit. Thinking back, in the 90s, the tech was primitive. They demonstrably are geniuses to have brought game the way they did.

Great interview. Being a software developer, I really appreciated her work. Time has been good to her, she's still very cute and smart.

Very nice to see one of the faces from the "background" of Time Team. Also a testiment to the huge technological development over the run of Time Team. Just like with Geophys

I would be interested to know what happened behind the scenes that resulted in Sue and Steve leaving the show. I read that the show replaced them with a ‘cheaper’ option. What is weird is that they get almost no mention (sometimes none at all) in the potted histories of the show. However, Sue evolved from being just listed (Graphics) somewhere down the rolling credits at the end of each show in seasons 1-3. Then, suddenly, she was listed under ‘Time Team’ in seasons 4-5. So Mick, Carenza, Phil and Sue (Sue no longer under ‘Graphics’) and maybe Robin if he was in the episode. Then they played with the credits listings in season 6 (Sue back under ‘Graphics’). Then gone from start of season 7. So what really happened? Sue was full prime ‘Time Team core member’, then dumped and gone (and barely rates a mention on many sites and listings). Seems a bad way to treat such a gracious talented contributor to the show.

I am currently binge watching TT from start to end and watched that one today. Season 5, episode on Mallorca. Her son is just 2 weeks old in that episode.

I just discovered Time Team this week. WAY better than Top Gear. I always found it odd they didn't give the cutest cast member (Sue) more screen time! lol.

Today you can get photo realistic scenes in real time with making assets in Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, or whatever 3d software you prefer and use a game engine like Unreal to do the rendering rather than the 3d software renderer which still takes time to do the render if you use raytracing for realistic lighting and shadows.
