How do you remove the switches; IE bought blue switches separately, but silvers are pre installed?
@focusattackcom5 жыл бұрын
There is a hole at the bottom of the base. You can use a small pointed object to push up on the switch at the base.
@vini4us7985 жыл бұрын
When ordering these from Focus Attack. Do they come with the standard non MX switch. (silent one that doesn't click) or are you required to purchase the MX cherry from the options? I cant find an answer on the site.

There is no default switch. You choose which switch you want with the base.

I have just bought a HORI Fighting Edge and I want to change the hayabusha buttons (besides other parts), as they are too sensitive for my taste. I'm new to pushbuttons, so I have some noob questions. I'm thinking about ordering a sample of each cherry microswitch and test them out. (Otherwise how would I know?) Are the microswitches compatible with any pushbutton, or only with the Gamerfinger? I don't like the octagonal shape of the Gamerfinger buttons, is there a circular version or a different brand you can recommend instead? Do you think it's a good plan to order a sample of the microswitches and install them into buttons to test them out, or would it be better to just buy let's say Sanwa buttons? Any advice is welcome, thanks!
@jaleelbeck1684 жыл бұрын
Microswitches are also compatible with the Crown 202-MX: 30mm - focusattack.com/pushbuttons/popular-brands/crown/sdb-series/30mm/202-mx/ 24mm - focusattack.com/pushbuttons/popular-brands/crown/sdb-series/24mm/ They are not compatible with any other button, such as Sanwa or Seimitsu. This would answer the other questions you had.

Old post, but I found sanwas to be too sensitive for me. Switched to seimitsus and have never been happier. That said, crowns SDB202 buttons are good as well and you can swap the switches on those as well. They have the circular barrel that you desire as well.

Interesting is a good word. While I wouldn't say I *love* these with the silent orange switches, they are definitely something I'd recommend for anyone worried about noise or who have a kid whose fighting game mashing is driving them crazy. I can't hear these over the sound of a quiet fan in my room, much less through a door or wall. I'll probably pick up another set with different switches to see how they feel with some tactile feedback.

I was wondering why GamerFinger doesnt sell colored button barrels.
@focusattackcom6 жыл бұрын
They used to with the G2 version of this button. I don't yet have an ETA when they're bring those back, but they did have translucent red, blue, green, and yellow buttons. I think it's a matter of getting the new colors going for the G3 version.

is there a link to where I can get button barrels? if not, thanks anyways!

Link is in the description, but to clarify www.focusattack.com/gamerfinger/. You can buy these as button barrels for $2.75. Note that the HBFS-30 is the only button that we offer this option for, since all other buttons supplied to us are pre-built with cap.

i have the pushbutton style, and when you put it in the razer panthera, it spins way too easily, it doesn't quite bite into the panel, the side tabs, what can i do to prevent this? i didn't get the lock ring when i ordered from GF, is there anyway i can buy the lock rings from you guys? the buttons spinning just drives me nuts, and i hate it. What can i do to make it snug like a sanwa snap in? thank yu
@focusattackcom5 жыл бұрын
The lock ring doesn't fully go to the top of the snap button rim, which prevents it from locking on a thin metal panel.
@bludika5 жыл бұрын
@@focusattackcom oh i see...what can i do to prevent the buttons from feeling loose while in the panthera? for some odd reason it doesn't fit snug on the panthera, it happens to be in that elusive thickness where it's not too thin or thick enough for the tabs to grip on it, so it can freely spin even when i pushed it TIGHT and flush onto the panthera panel, its not super loose but i can spin it easily with my fingers if i wanted to. Any remedies for this? you guys should try it out with a stock panthera, default art still on, i havent tried with a plexi so i can't say but the default art plus the metal panel seems to be too thin for the buttons to snap on tight
@focusattackcom5 жыл бұрын
@@bludika I have a snap in sample, but I don't have a stock Panthera anymore - the one I have is stripped and panel replaced. you could possibly use one of our TE2 rings, or something like a rubber band or o-ring.
@bludika5 жыл бұрын
@@focusattackcom yea i was possibly thinking of the TE2 rings too hahaha. But it's just odd how the snap ins don't fit snug in the panthera, while in the PRO N it fits so snug that it's a pain in the ass to take out, and their panel is fairly thin compared to the Panthera, i guess its just a coincidence the panthera panel with the stock art just fits in between the sizes for the tabs :( any possible chance i can get a free sample of the 8 TE rings? i know it's selfish request but i really can't see myself ordering just those, i usually like to order a bunch of buttons and new crown lever etc along with small misc parts, but just those mic parts alone, ehhh... not sure. I will be more than happy to try it out and let you know in an email if it works or not, that way you can make note on your fb, twitter, etc and website it helps with the GF buttons, i know it bothers a lot of people from what i've read on Reddit that the buttons freely spin around even when snapped all the way in :(

Do you sell them without the screw in? the snap-in ones?

Not right now. We were trying to avoid duplication by offering screw only, as the snap in basically works the same. These aren't cheap even for us to buy. However, we are investigating snap in as the requests come in.

The diameter of the top of the button is smaller than the button base/housing. This article might help to explain support.focusattack.com/hc/en-us/articles/208774716-24mm-vs-30mm-Choosing-the-right-Japanese-Arcade-Button

The outside diameter of the button including the rim is 33mm. Please keep in mind that the rim does not represent the diameter of the button housing, only the rim itself. The rim adds close to 3mm, but sits atop the 30mm button hole.

Although a good video, I think there are a few things lacking. You mention a snapping sound when pushing the switch into the housing, yet have no audio? Second, A selling point is the ability to change out switches, so you should add a segment about disassembly. That is my constructive criticism.

Do yourself a favor, and be careful with these buttons. I've already complained to GF, and they didn't respond this time, though they replaced my buttons once before. They're overpriced for how they perform. I had Sanwa's for over 15 years that still work, I had to replace these buttons TWICE in a 5 year span. I had the first gen, they kept sticking somehow, I don't know why, maybe it's because I was in an area that is somewhat humid, but the sound muzzler inside just kept sticking to the button. I had to drop alcohol in them every other 3 days to get it to stop sticking. I like to press buttons very lightly, when you first get these, you barely have to put any pressure on them, but after a few short months, you have to BANG them. Then, I complained to them, they send me another pair, the G3, they worked well for about a year, but they're having problems that I can't even pinpoint. I do have a mechanical keyboard, so I know about these type of switches, although, I think Cherry switches are kind of wack, but they're okay for keyboards; not for arcade sticks, as you will more than likely wear them out faster than on a keyboard I think. I am about to put gateron switches in these and try them out. I don't know if it's a problem with the housing, but god DAMN, do I have to bang these buttons sometimes to make a move come out. I think the switches they come with are just pure shit and don't last long. It's possible that these Cherry switches aren't even real, they look a bit different than the ones for keyboards in the pin connector, but they could be updated, too. If you're someone like me who makes videos or practices multiple games (I play shmups, platformers and fighting games and make combo videos here and there), these switches are pure shit. I have the Cherry grey's in the ones I have (black G3's.) It's hard to know who to blame, Cherry or Gamerfinger (GF does have great customer service though,) but either way, they did not really rigorously test these buttons for the long run. If you were to pay like 6 bucks per button and they only last about a year or two, that's a really expensive investment compared to 2 dollar buttons from Sanwa; or even Seimitsu, that last more than 5-10 years. I swear to god, I have a mirror top HRAP1 with the ugly green buttons, ALL of those buttons STILL WORK. I must have played a million+ games of 3S on that stick, and never had to replace those buttons. I'm using these in an Etokki Omni with a Brooks Universal board, so I know it's not my board. Lastly, look at the reviews on FA for these buttons, I'm not the only one who's complained about these. It could be the button housing, or the switch. Either way, be careful with these.
@TranceCore37 ай бұрын
I've owned a set since 2018, never had them replaced, and never changed out the mx silvers they came with. They still work. And fixing the buttons are as simple as buying a new microswitch rather than new buttons. Also you can disassemble these buttons and clean them with soap and water. I wouldn't dare to do that with a Sanwa or seimitsu button
