Should I get a rough hybrid pad like the Razer Strider or a Cordura pad like the paraspeed/mpc? What are the difference in speed and control of the the strider compared to the other two? I really don't have much experience with many mouse pads but I realized I prefer faster pads even when playing tac fps games. I play both tracking heavy and tac fps games. I would say my tracking is overall worse than my precision. I want to say I prefer firmer and rougher pads but I've never tried something that's super soft like artisan pads. I don't push my mouse into my mouse pad as well. Would a Cordura pad be much more resistant to humidity and be easier to maintain and clean than a hybrid? Do Cordura pads have longer longevity than the razer strider. Do budget options come close to these mouse pads? I live in a very high humidity area good humidity resistance would be ideal.

Really depends on your preference. I also have a video for when I first got the strider - the main difference I can recall right now is the texture. The Strider has a rougher feel but still smooth in use. Both are pretty easy to clean but if I had to pick one for maintenance purposes, corduras are better at that.

I have the MP511 cordura pad and I really like the surface. But I hate the stitched edges. I don't really care about the quality or if I can feel it on the arm but the thing that bothers me about the stitched edges of the MP511 is that they are higher than the surface of the pad so whenever I reach the edge of the pad with my mouse it bumps into the stitching and it messes up my aim. All pads that I previously used either had no stitching or stitching that isn't raised so I'm really used to going over the edge of the pad with the front skates and making use of the extra space that way. Not being able to do that on the MP511 makes it feel way too small for me. I am considering cuting off the edges or buying a different pad that doesn't have raised stitched edges and the pulsar one looks promising. Are the edges of the Paraspeed higher than the cordura surface? And can you feel them if you go over the edge of the pad with the mouse?

The edges are a bit higher than the actual surface of the pad but it doesn't really bother me. It will really boil down to the feel. For the coverage, get maybe the larger version. The bumps more often happen with my keyboard in my case, so I just move the board if that happens. Happens every now and then after cleaning my desk. Still can be subjective though depending on your sense and the amount of space used when swiping.

alright, thanks for the answer. The larger version is just 400mm vertically so that would still be a problem for me because i want lots of vertical space, too. I guess i'll stick with the mp511 for now, currently i have a small stack of printer papers under the pad so that the stitched edges are hanging freely. That way they are not raised anymore but the pad slides around easier and the surface isn't perfectly even anymore. Maybe i'll try undoing or cuting off the stiching in the future and if i ruin the pad i could try the pulsar pad
