I like your example of how to answer “What is your salary expectation?”. My question for you is can I use this answer for when they ask this question in a screening document (not a live interview)?

Chau, That’s a different story. If your using an external recruiter you won’t have a screening document. Screening documents come into play when applying internally. If you apply internally and get a screening document you have to answer. Keep in mind the best jobs go through external recruiters. In fact I have never applied for a job, as I wanted to bypass the HR process and get a better position. So try to leverage external recruiters when you can. They position you to the hiring manager, not HR. Win the hiring manager over and then negotiate.
