In fact, when we tested the A8 a few weeks ago, we felt that the A8’s depths of technological talents deserved their own story.
Join us on this guide to just what Audi’s A8 is capable of. From fragrant air conditioning to matrix lighting to some sort of a day spa for your feet, the A8 takes car features and accessories to another level.

Back in 2000 a friend who owns an interior shop asked me if I could keep a customers car in my garage for a night. His shop was full and he didn't want to leave the customer's car outside. It was a 1998 A8 that he was replacing the headliner in because the customer had left the sunroof open overnight(summer time,Florida). Anyway, I drove the car home and needless to say there has not been any other make or model in my garage since. The only components that have failed were both on my 2007 4.2 which were the A/C compressor and gaskets hardening which causes an oil leak. Excellent cars!

Agree! I've owned and completely enjoyed three Audis consecutively since 2000 (A4 and two A6's), each from new to about 100k miles and no quality or reliability issues whatsoever. I am on Audi #4 now - and its this beauty! First Audi Ive bought used, but with only 24K miles, its beautiful and like-new. I hope to enjoy it up to 100k like the others. (Actually, thinking I might just LIVE in it. What a wonderful place to be; My blood pressure drops every time I pull the soft-close door shut and settle into the most comfortable car seat I've ever encountered. And it is so QUIET. Audi hushed everything from the door locks to the window motors. Truly a serene place to be. Oh, and it does drive well too - I mean, its an Audi, so of course.

Why? Slow, ugly, boring. For me it would be an M5 f90. Fastest 4 door, fun and still has as much tech as that Audi in the front area. Yes the Audi beats it in the rear but I dont give a shit because I wanna drive.

Ill be waiting for the S8 to come out, the car is brilliant but Im not sure about the amount of plastic trims eg on the rear bumper, they either need colour coded or you need real exhausts coming out of the back. Talking of the touch screens and the interior it is brilliant, however the analog clock is a great touch and its a shame to see that go!

Seats from all the luxury cars nowadays basically has TOO Much adjustments and it's so hard to actually get comfortable. And good luck when someone reset your seat profile. You have a take a week off to get it back to your liking again.
@adzmorris
@adzmorris 5 жыл бұрын
The seats are supremely comfortable with zero adjustment but the level of accuracy you can achieve to get the absolute perfect position is incredible. And it's incredibly easy to store your settings (including you air con, stereo, lighting and drive settings) so if someone messes with your set-up, just press the allocated button and all returns to the way you left it.

Look it up in an English dictionary and see their entry for H. H (named aitch, plural aitches), is the eighth letter in the ISO basic Latin alphabet.

Went to buy one for the family. But no smart suspension for the Australian plebs, active safety features are dialed back for oz, it struggles to stay in a lane vs the tesla, Mercedes and 7 series - to a dangerous degree. Even the rear seat won't recline without the executive option. The hype about the "technology" on this thing is borderline false advertising (level 3 capable etc). I watched this to see if the reviewer included the stuff Audi left out for the Australian plebs, and while he didn't blindly say it was included, he didn't mention that it had been left out either.

This..essentially a souped-up A6 & (the other unrelated to this S6 topic) the A4s, both had correct design accorded on them at especially the frontal fascia. That having sed, their flagship A8 big brother, while having received considerable praises & nods from almost all car review hosts & hostesses from all over alike & they're verdict was w/o a doubt, evry bit trustworthy. I feel this A8 howevr, had the most odd, disproportionate, evn kinda undesirable looking front design of any, with as-if a fork-lift having a wide-load bulk at its front. That.., what can be sed like about the only gripes coming from the..err..,a tad more knowledgeable handful few reviewer individuals. And Yes, absolutely true of what the knowledgeable ones attested in their sincerity of the engine placement being more ahead or before the axle. What's in the context of automotive dynamics, such was understood to naturally send a vehicle to lurch or throw its front heavy weight about from regular norms of accepted understanding. We maybe wrong by our understanding of its current set-up. Dunno.., probably that now is no longer anymore the case, as that is now likely all ironed out with the use of some clever comp's active handling controls applied on. Nonetheless that what looked (to me) like a huge crate before the excellent finesse of the rest of her other entirety, was an incredible let down to say the least. Now that Audi had had her 'Quattro' AWD & AWS(Steering) systems applied-on her flagship the A8. Why then, shud U anymore needda be concerned about the insufficiencies synonymous with Front-Wheel-Drive frontal tires' traction bit, whether there be enuf down-force (exertion), what has to do with the engine weighing-down the front for maintaining the "Live-axle" - 2 front-tires' traction when in (only) going "UP" gradients undertaking. Whether be it if the engine sits at where it now is or much more so after the axle or essentially the front wheels' center-line lateral, that is for another debate. One thing's for sure, that incredible barge-like width for an engine housing or hood "Before the Front Wheels" absolutely has got to be revised, tapered off, reduced down or pulled aback at around the 'Head Lights' & radiator's grille. While the lower skirt part where the fender (albeit now no longer existent) & license/registration plate once occupied & anything below from there on, needda be tucked-in more, as conversed to the present's where everything forward from the occupants' cabin seemingly had such considerable over-prominence. Another, being the radiator-grille design, 1 reminiscent (didn't say the same) to the TT's shud absolutely be instituted on the A8 at the possible soonest, if the market is to be cornered when the going is still good with the now on-going incredibly positive reviews had from everywhere or most auto review channels & mags.
