Thank you. All I did was your first part: Joyce ... Downloads .... Go to itunes 64 set up .... Right clicked, and checked on run as administrator ... and followed the instructions. I Unchecked itunes as default player, and then it all downloaded normally. :) You are an excellent teacher. I tried several other folk's posts on this subject and was lost.

It's only so you know where all the files are when you copy and paste everything over. For ease of use you can just create a folder on the desktop (right click on your desktop. Go down to New and click on folder. Name it iTunes or something and then just paste everything over to that folder you created. :)

Thanks so much for this video! I have Windows 7 and I’m installing iTunes 12.7, and I had no trouble with the fix until 4:57, when I tried to install AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi. I clicked through the various windows and got the same error I’d gotten before: “There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.” Help? I did notice that I did not have a Bonjour file in my folder?

Go into control panel and uninstall all apple related software (including Bonjour if you have it) Then do the following. 1. From the Start menu, select Computer. 2. Open Local Disk (C:) located in Computer, or whichever hard disk your programs are installed on. 3. Open the Program Files folder. 4. Delete the following folders, if they exist: iTunes Bonjour iPod Download the install files from apple again and try to install iTunes. Lemme know if it still happens.

cool, surprisingly the very 1st solution worked for my problem. "right click the itunes installer and run as administrator." thanks. I recently wanted to wipe everything off my computer except keep my old windows user profile/documents, as well as installing windows 10 pro( since the windows 10 free was no longer free..hardware upgrades..) so I bought a digital copy of it off of Microsoft website...download was taking forever, so I restored os to a previous version then I re-activated windows 10 pro, and then it finally installed the os(would be nice if they'd throw in a cd key with it, maybe I should have just bought a disc).

yeah i prefer to buy the physical version of OS's (unless of course it's a dodgy version, then all you do is download the iso and burn to a dvd) :) anyways glad this video helped you!

Thank you for this video! Surprisingly, the first option worked for me; 'running as administrator'. Make sure you have left the previous installation window open and make sure you have the installation files showing as shown at 2:54 if you do then just open similar looking folders to check where the actual files are. It's always best to pause a instructional video at certain points if you get behind in the instructions, that's what i have to do sometimes. :)

Oh my gosh whenever I got to the point after I copied and pasted the iTune 64 and the other packages in hit next it froze up like it does every time. I have an iPod nano that I can't put music on because iTunes won't run on Windows and all of the other methods to do it cost. Sonoma basically have a useless apple paperweight

ofc I have I don't have any files hidden at all, you don't have to go all the way round to hide/unhide file ! just go into your folder click on View, and it will show you, as I don't have any files that were to hide / unhide, that's why I don't get it, like I said I don't have any of those file folder above my contacts list at all, nothing not one yellow folder!

Do exactly what I showed you in the video, right clicking and then selecting view doesn't show hidden files whilst in the drive itself. If this still doesn't work then either a) your OS is installed on another drive or b) something has gone seriously wrong somewhere and it may be worth just rolling back to a previous restore point.

First try disabling any anti-virus you have installed, if it doesnt work still then re-enable it again and follow the following steps: 1. Click Start, type "Local Security Policy" (without quotes) and press enter. 2. Click on Software Restriction Policies. 3. In the right pane, double click on the "enforcement". 4. Select “All users except local administrators”. 5. Click OK and restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed.

Bonjour isn't really needed, it's mainly there to locate printers, shared libraries etc, if you really want to grab it then just go here :) - support.apple.com/en-gb/bonjour

Could be a good possibility you already have a version installed on your computer. Go into Start - Control Panel - Programs & Features and look for anything Apple related in the programs list if you find something just uninstall it and try the whole procedure in the video again, it should then work for you.

Sorry to spoil your thunder, but there is another problem. ITunes installer 12.2.7 on windows 10. It asks to download and gets half way through again and then gets stuck. I believe that it was 12.2.7 that I installed the other day, so why has it come up again? Also, and I am not sure if its connected, but windows updater also keeps trying to get me to go online when I am already online. I have AVG so I don't think it's a bug, but something is going on.

Sounds like something fishy is going on there. Try downloading Malwarebytes and giving your computer a scan. If it doesn't find anything then you may need to get someone to have a look at it as he could be a complex problem. Let me know how you get on.

I checked my AVG and it needed an update. I've gone through every scan now. For some reason, malwarebytes will download but will not install. I think AVG might be stopping it. That Itunes installer is asking me to download and install the same number I installed above. I've reset and restarted everything, so fingers crossed I have got rid of whatever has caused this problem. If you don't hear from me, then all is well. Thanks for the info on malwarebytes, never heard of that programme.

Close iTunes Goto your iTunes folder it's either under: - My Documents\My Music\iTunes\ - \Users\username\Music\iTunes\ (Make sure that it's right one by looking at the Time & Date of the FIle (should be the same, as the last time you closed itunes) Drag the iTunes Library file from the above location to the Desktop. Open the Previous iTunes Libraries folder in the iTunes folder. Locate the file named iTunes Library YYYY-MM-DD where YYYY-MM-DD is the date you upgraded iTunes (Year-Month-Day). Drag this file to the iTunes folder (the enclosing folder). Rename this file to iTunes Library. Open iTunes.
