Another Desktop Support Quickie, FOLDER PERMISSIONS. Explained as fast as possible... :)

Hi! Excellent video! Can I ask something? If folder B is within folder A, and folder C is within B, what will happen if I give "Full control" rights for folder B to a user ? I assume the user's new rights will NOT be inherited by folder A, but what will be the case with folder C (which is a subfolder of folder B)? Here is a simple graphic/tree-structure representation of the scenario (copied from the tree command within CMD, as I'm sure you will recognise): ├───A (root folder) │ └───B (subfolder within A, and parent of folder C) │ └───C (subfolder within B) Thank you again for the video! :)

Exactly. Your thinking is correct. Full control to B affects everything inside of it (including C and all files).

@@Cobuman Thank you for the response! If I wanted this user to have access to folder B while keeping folder C out of reach for him, couldn't I just edit the Security section of folder C? I can also change the inheritance of a parent folder to its child folder under Properties -> Security -> Advanced -> Permissions -> Disable inheritance button, right? Sorry for all of these questions, I would actually test these out in a test environment if I had any. This also doesn't have any practical implications for me at the moment, I'm just driven by my curiosity. Thanks again! :)

Yes, you can certainly experiment with different options.
