I have found so much good music because of Steve Bug. On a whim I picked up Da minimal Funk on Raw Elements at a local shop. From the start of Digit Red’s Density & Size I was hooked. It was unlike anything I had heard up to that point. The more I dug, the closer I got to my preferred style of music. And while I love me some disco house, I’ll vibe out on some minimal treats for hours and hours...

If I understand correctly, he is saying that we get caught up in the minutia of mix details when we ought to be composing - so for example we spend too much time tweaking a sound for little benefit, and creativity suffers. I get it, but I disagree. In modern electronic styles, mixing and production has become as distinctive and important as rhythms and melodies. As we develop our own innovations in mixing and processing, we push the state of the art. Unlike pop, rock or folk music, the package is more than chords and a melody. You can't sit around the campfire and play tech house on an acoustic guitar. I like Steve Bug very much but I am disappointed to hear that he has relinquished control of such an important part of his art. I hope his friend who does the mixing is adequately credited.

Oh no, no, no, no. There is and will be always be something new. I have explored using African and Arabian drumming along with strong melodies in my music. A part of one combined with another and a measure of something all new keeps us creating. My channel features only one division of my music, and does not show my cutting edge compositions with complex drum patterns.
