“Look how versatile this is! I only use one of the hundreds of possibilities”

I love how Leo's Lounge has evolved. I've been playing my late 80's L2000 in series, preamp on, bass- lots of cut, treble- no cut,both pups. It's odd having the bass at full cut, I probably compensate a bit with the amp. Also it's a small room. It's such a great sound. cheers

Just a short story. A few years back I wanted to move from a four to a five string bass. I bought a Warwick Thumb that although was a great bass it wasn't what I was looking for. Went back to the shop I asked if I could swap it for something of equal value. There on the wall was this GL2500 that had been hanging for about a year, no body wanted it, one of the tech guys convinced me to try it out, I did and I haven't looked back ever since. G&L must be one of the most underrated brands there is.

Hi. Indeed, a Thumb bass can‘t compete with the Stingray or the GL. It sounds „woody“, to much mids. Don‘ t like it either.

Does this have the same string spacing as the 750 series?

how / where is the battery. Is there a lot of wires when changing the battery? do you really have to unscrew all 6 screws to change the battery? I really like the tone of the bass (l-2500). The battery changing is what i'm concerned about. Thanks sounds great!

Yes you do have to remove all 6 screws. (2010 Tribute L-2000)

Are they always so fuzzy?

Can anyone tell me what the string spacings are on the L2500? I've heard that they're rather tight, but I've never been able to play one. And more specifically, the string spacings on the Tribute model, as that's the only one I'd be able to afford.... Help??

Somewhere between 17 and 17.5mm

Just picked up a Tribute L2000. I've noticed it doesn't have the low end that yours does in this video. Both pickups, series, bass all the way up, it's a little midrangey and honky compared to this one. Bought it used, and maybe I need to restring it, but old strings don't really make a bass less bassy, do they? Is it possible there's something wrong with my MFD's or preamp? It doesn't sound bad, but definitely a slight bit less ass on the tone compared to this vid.

Had an early L2000 and it was a great bass, but never could under stand why there was never a pickup blend, or volume knob for each pickup. That has been the deal breaker.

The G&L M2000 solves those problems

Agree. Another improvement would be to have the control cavity shielded ( I had my shielded by a local technician) and a pop up battery compartment like the Musicman.

It’s 2022 and they still make preamps without any mid controls? And why would you have bass cut and but no boost? You could at least get by w/o mid control if you had bass and treble boost.
@fearnoevil65 Жыл бұрын
One nice thing is that you can run the L-2000 passive, and still have some control over tone. I think it sounds better in passive. They made the M-2000 with cut and boost with mid like you're talking, and i rarely ever touch the eq on my M-2000

The whole concept behind the L series basses is very different from any other active bass. the MFD pickups in these basses are very hot and full-range sounding, so a cut-only preamp makes sense in that application.

Hello, this bass is which model ?
@TonyPuleo12 жыл бұрын
This is the L-2500, but it also goes on the L-2000 and the ASAT

Treble boost on a bass? 🙄
@daitos195510 ай бұрын
True. I have an L2500 and never use the treble boost, gets too trebly, the active mode is quite enough
