For today's Sunrise Mindset Tech Tip Tuesday video I show you how to use .8mm welding wire and a pair of pliers to fix a broken cam wire. The process is not super easy, and expect it to take longer than you think, but it's great to be able to DIY fix a cam!
Unfortunately my phone stopped recording during the meat of the fix, so you don't get to see that part.
Basically the steps are:
1. remove the old wire
2. cut the welding wire to about the correct length (leave yourself a little extra but not too much extra)
3. gently fold the wire to feed it through the slot (different sized cams are different so make sure you leave a little extra for the bigger cams to loop around the little hook)
4. Fold the wire at the hole and poke it through
5. cut off the excess so that you have just enough to bend a little over to hold it in place.
6. Enjoy your newly fixed cam and feel proud of going DIY with it.
