TECH TIPS: Archery Releases and Techniques

What type of release would you recommend for a newbie? Also a model recommendation? For hunting only.

Do you hunt with the wrist release or thumb? Which one do you find to be better for you.

I shoot a thumb button like a hinge. I lock my thumb around the barrel of the release and touch my index finger with my thumb. And then use my ring finger to drive that release back as my thumb and index fingers are stagnant. Do you see any downside to shooting it this way? I am new to 😢thumb button shooting

I am amazed watching archery videos how so many people have no clue. They just drive by and hammer that trigger. Very little if any shot control. “ well, Uncle Jonny showed me how to do it this!” lol

Can you do a video on hunting with a hinge? I punch the crap out of a trigger or thumb and want to try the hinge to hunt this year. That or the evolution. Thoughts?

I do a lot of dry fire training with a cheap hinge. Just use a loop of paracord the same length as my draw. If I run through the mental process correctly, it makes it hard for me to punch my thumb button when I hop back over to the bow. Because of this I didn't need to buy an expensive hinge and I still was able to make improvements on my target panic. I will only hunt with the thumb button because it's useful for fighting the wind. Hope this helps!
