Maybe call me crazy, but I decided to buy the TL2 as my full time system. I shoot mostly street portraits and city scenes. I also teach photography workshops in my city of Chicago. Im done with carrying those medium and large format cameras everywhere I go for the past 40 years, never really liked 35mm cameras. I don't think this camera, or any camera for that matter is suited for any particular skill set of photographers, its all about what you can do with the equipment you have. Let's see how this puppy does with some detailed street portraiture. Nice tutorial by the way Best

You can use visoflex ii on it, but it with limited the function on the button.

For video, if you don't mind the size, the ART18-35mmF/1.8 lens is now fully compatible (with latest firmware) due to the new L Mount Alliance between Leica, Sigma and Panasonic. They're all using and collaborating on the L mount now. Sigma is releasing their ART primes this year, but also have a first-party MC-21 adaptor for using their EF lenses on the TL or the S1/S1R etc as native lenses. www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4374914#forum-post-62430946

I have the APS X113 which does give stunning images but has the fixed 23mm f1.7 Summilux. I do have the Visoflex EVF which I love. I guess I would change it for the TL2 but the cost of the M adapter to fit my 50mm Summicron is ludicrous and the cost of other T primes is prohibitive. I would have thought a cheap M adapter is mandatory to aid uptake of this camera. So, I keep my lovely X113 as my street camera and use a Panasonic GX7 as a system camera; I can easily afford Panasonic and Olympus primes ;-)

Great review, what are your thoughts on the TL2 vs the Q? Obviously one has the ability to change lenses, but image quality is what I am most interested in. Also can you tell me what this video was shot on? The video quality is excellent!

Brandon Smith to be honest it’s really close between the two for image quality. The Q has a full frame sensor so that will give it a slight edge in overall image quality if you are printing your photos and the Summilux lens on it is better than the TL lenses, but if you are just using the camera for web usage and are okay to edit photos a bit you will be more than happy with the TL2. I just finished shooting with the TL2 for a project in Chiang Mai with the TL Summilux 1.4 35mm and I got some really impressive photos out of it. The downside with this combo is the lens is very big compared to the body of the TL2 so I found it a bit clumsy and not as balanced as the Q is to shoot with. I believe we shot the video with the Panasonic GH3 if I’m not mistaken. Any more questions feel free to ask :)

Scott Church strap is from Leica. This is the one designed for the TL2

Out of all the Leica APSC this one seem the jpg is better .

I like TL2 more than CL , And owned its the only thing i don’t like are T lenses as i shot SL ,M and Q these lens are made as a pro lens compare with T lens . T lenses are light , plastic feel more like the cheap lens not Leica as you expect when pay top dollars , if you have the M10 with EVF then its can be use on the TL2 as well . My prefer backup camera is the Q consider cost the CL/TL2 with lenses combo then the Q is much better . Reason i bought leica TL2 is my wife like the look and the interface touch screen and i say this is a girl leica .

We will be testing more of the TL lenses in the near future. They have improved over the years and while some are not at the M or L lenses they do produce some good looking images. I agree the pricing for the TL2/CL is tough compared to the Q. It really depends what you want out of a camera, design etc.
