A mini pack with fishing gear, water purifie tablets. 5 ziplock bags. In my pocket a mini flashlight, a compass and special lighter. No food,no tent,no sleeping bag. Travel as light as possible. I'm actually impressed that the flashlight lasts even 15 minutes at the highest setting. The survival paracord would be better to use as as a hoodie cord. It's all well and good for having it as laces, but then you have no shoelaces if you need to use it .

@@ourkeving there is but I'm speaking from experience. I use Paracord for laces in a few pairs of boots and had to use them before. If you use just the outer casing, once you tie them you can never untie them. It gets so thin that the knots are tiny and super tight.

The _biggest_ problem with the poncho tent is that it will NOT Last. The cheap zipper will give away (just one bad zipper is game over). A rip or normal fabric wearing out is bye bye water resistant (100% guaranteed it's not waterproof). Trust me, it's better to have a single purpose device.

Ive actually had really great results using them with a new chainsaw chain. I was helping my dad cut some limbs that were 15 - 30 ft off the ground. The trick i found is to have 2 people if possible. If using it single, try to keep the ropes as wide apart as you can manage. It sucks, but it's doable. We were cutting limbs 4" - 8" in diameter.

some interesting tech here, but there is the problem. For survival, tech items are not the best - the batteries wear out, other items have limited life, GPS doesn't work in many wilderness areas etc. We are better off learning survival techniques using non-tech or natural stuff available in the wild. Learn how to navigate with sun, stars, maps and compasses. Learn how to navigate from the terrain.

The only things that would truly be useful are the Zippo hatchet/saw, and the water purifier (even though there are significantly better options for both). @random.36659 ай бұрын
...Most maglites have (or had, got mine decades ago) a lense you could focus by rotating the "head" of the flashlight. So there is only a black hole in the center if you focus the light in a super wide angle. Otherwise, you get full illumination in the center.
