Even some professional woodworkers make that mistake... Never apply stain with a brush. Put on some disposable gloves, grab a cloth, and rub the stain in.

I like to think that Matt has a house that is an illusion of being an antique, wooden store but in reality every last inch of appliances (fridge, microwave, oven, toaster), chairs, couch, tables, floors, and walls is a fully capable and highly functional super computer.

Awesome sleeper mod Matt 🥰🥳👍🎉🤯. Love to see the final build with the back completed. From personal experience and also As mentioned below, using a rag or sponge when applying stains will give a more even result and a very fine grit sandpaper use between coats will give an awesome result. Also in some cases diluting the stain (depending if it’s water or turps based and using the appropriate diluter) can give a softer result with the stain.

Next time instead of painting the frame you can burn the surface with torch. The effect is very cool, only the wood gain will pop out from the ash forming. Try it.

Been looking forward to another sleeper! Great Job. If you’re going to stain the wood, sand it down till smooth and get a cloth. Put the wood varnish onto the cloth and rub it on with the grain. I hope this helps.

To stain properly you apply stain with one rag and wipe the stain off with another rag after about 3 seconds. That’s it. If it won’t take then you need to use a different wood. If you paint this you will need to make sure you use an oil based paint since you likely used an oil based stain. You’ll have better luck removing the stain with paint stripper, not sanding.

A bit late to the party but I love this custom case. How about making one of the dials into the PC Power on button. Perhaps instead of reaching around the back for cables, you can turn the orange mesh rectangle thing by the dials into a flap that you can lift up to plug in some cables? Or use a USB hub. Maybe the dials can adjust the fan curve? Also cause its an sff portable PC, that could use a nice leather handle! Just had an idea that maybe you could make a sleeper PC module like that are in Fallout 4.

If you have another rotary encoder, can you connect the pins that are responsible for the button press to the on/off switch on the motherboard, so another knob can act like the PC's on/off switch? Is it already set up this way, or since the rotary encoder acts like a volume knob the button press is for mute/unmute?

If the glue used in this video is the same kind I think it is, you wouldn't have to build supports for it. Once the glue drys, there is no amount of abuse that the glue couldn't handle. No matter how hard you try the glue will not seperate.

test Guilty Gear Strive on it especially that case would perfectly fit in GG's universe contrasts (in the lore, electronics were banned in 2000's, a "what if Y2K actually happened" and the entire world, except the floating Zepp nation, regressed in technology, relying in magic. Also the main protagonist is from our time and became "immortal" because he was converted to a gear and still listen to Queen's discography)

This is beyond a sleeper PC. Instead of using an old PC chassis, you're using old home appliances. I love seeing this kind of stuff! Building PCs inside weird, unusual and quirky stuff is always interesting to watch. My favorite part is when the steps and adjustments are discussed. I'm more interested in the process (how to make this fit into that) and not so much in the end result (game benchmarks).
