Tech Doctor, you are absolutely correct. In 1994, I used a C-Band dish to get all of my television. I paid $25 a month for every channel possible. It is a scam the way pay are ripped off now with how high the prices are.

I believe that piracy is here to to stay, and there is really nothing the authorities can do about it because as one OPTV service clises down there willbalways be a new one opening up with hopefully improved safeguards against those who would attempt to close them down. How did the US companies manage to get an injunction in Tunisia?? I have no idea what the copyright laws there are, but I was under the impression that to take a case against a business in the courts of another country, those courts must have jurisdiction. This requires establishing a link between the business and the country in which the claim is brought. PS. And yes, I too believe that digital piracy is here to stay, especially in the populous, poor countries where people cannot afford to pay for it.

Piracy is here to stay. Once they created legal streams for users abroad it became easy for people to restream the content. I remember using a HTC wildfire to remotely view the contents of a web browser on my home computer 15 years ago. I couldn't even open the same web page on my phone those days. With Sky Go, Netflix, Disney, Prime, DAZN etc available on multiple platforms with a powerful computer it's quite easy to open multiple channels in different windows and to record on the fly and restream this content.

If there was not so much greed going on by several layers of organisations then prices could drop and people would subscribe and common sense would prevail. One of the most popular sports worldwide is Premier League Football (played in England), currently if you live in England you cannot legally watch all matches, so obviously people will use other methods to watch.

Ta for the info....in the big scheme of things...advertisers get a bonus with IPTV as the streams are restreamed around the world..giving them extra coverage for the same price. I am sure this is factored in

Have to agree that demand for IPTV will remain high. The world wide inflation is making it hard for people to afford needs of daily life. TV/video is a luxury item so the cheaper it it the more demand for the service.

It is outrageous the prices they charge for TV services in the US. I believe that, as you have already stated, if they reduced significantly the price of the subscriptions, most people would gladly pay it. Just remember how the levels of online piracy went down when Netflix came into play, offering great subscriptions at just $6 - $8 per month. Now, their prices have increased over 100% (and so have the piracy, again). I also believe that piracy will always exist, but it is in the hands of these big companies to make the wise changes in their rates to reduce its damage.

Here's the way I look at it Doc. Tech. Killed regular cable when PVR became a standard part of your cable box. Why? Because advertisers no longer had an audience, when everyone started recording everything and skipping commercials. They couldn't move to the big streaming companies cause their thing was "no commercials' which also limits their revenue, and I think they are now feeling that problem. There is only so much ads you can stick in every nook and cranny on the internet, before people just stop going to sites with too many pop ups. Remember everything is ad based and it's only with some form of advertisers that you can create the revenue to sustain the whole thing. Have you noticed that free TV apps with the infrastructure is increasing the likes of crackle, reevee, tubi, etc. Etc. The content is also getting remarkably better. It's not just 1950/60's TV shows anymore. Some are even creating their own original content....hmmm. oh guess what ads are back in style and you can't bypass them. Lol. They are even nice enough to tell you they are coming. Major brands are putting top quality ads on these sites, and the sites are putting out better content to attract the advertisers. When 5G rolls out even to a greater extent, firesticks etc will keep up with the change and create new things we don't currently have. I've said this before and I will say it again, TV is going to be free in the not too distant future. It pretty much is now. I can watch just about any Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Disney, etc free with my firestick. They don't do ad's and they are going to suffer greatly. Will they try and shut down 3rd party apps? Hell no, they can't, no matter how much money they throw at it. Remember when you paid for porn and water was free? The pirate Bay will be celebrating 20 years soon. They gave it 6 months when they first started. If anything big streaming should be getting in bed with the 3rd party hacks and streamers. After all they're both trying to make a buck. You need advertisers to do that. That's my rant for the night my friend, enjoy.
