Valid points, no doubt and keep that honesty high as social media is literally infested with shllls where integrity and honesty is out with the bathwater, all in exchange for freebies and pursuing some action on affiliate links etc and being able to piggyback other people purchases... though' I also expect a decent moral from squarehead scandinavians, partically danes as Denmark decade after decade top the planet as least corrupt nation on the worlds backbone index, transperancy international.. so keep comming with all negative things, as long as it is well argumented as the case here, and it goes without saying that I really like DJI drones and they are close to be second to none on the scene' but painting and honest transpranct picture are the biggest help you can give possible buyers.

There's one particular use where the loss of 3 minutes flight time, vs. the old Air 2, comes into play. That's when doing hyperlapse videos. When you want to do a 15+ second waypoint hyperlapse or course lock hyperlapse, that extra 3 minutes can be huge as far as whether you can capture what you want and still have enough time to bring the drone back safely.

I was very disappointed about my Air 2S's severe crooked horizon. It seemed to me that in the first 3-5 minutes of the flight the gimbal is "stiff" and stuck on one side. I had to do a combination of adjusting the gimbal in-flight and/or rolling it left and right a few times to get the horizon leveled. Other KZbinrs don't seem to run into this issue, however, so I exchanged mine for a different one. The second Air 2S's horizon is much better out of the gate, like yours, and seems to be doing a good job keeping the horizon relatively straight when I roll left or right. I will need to correct it in-flight or once again re-calibrate the gimbal on the ground to see if it gets the horizon straight.

Another Smart Controller issue. When I connect it to the Air 2s, the format choice button is mysteriously missing in the menu. This forces me only to shoot in Jpeg. Curiously, the format choice IS available if I use the original controller.

Estimated I watched the whole video to see if there was something near the horizon, as it happens to me and it is very annoying. Is there any solution? did you know that you can configure the horizon? it is a bit hidden but I have found it in "advanced stabilizer settings", manual calibration, and there it allows to rotate it. For hyperlapse in circle mode I was unable to set the pitch of the gimbal. I wanted it to face slightly downward but it only would look straight at the target object. Maybe I missed something though.

For the ND 32 filter it is normal to have a color shift. The ND isn't IR cut. So the InfraRed contaminates the shadows of the image. We have the same problem with cinema cameras as Red or Arri.

Couple more negatives, both of which really irk me. 1- Yaw speed minimum is 20 degrees per sec. I use 6 on my Mini 2. 2 - No yaw and pitch control when in RTH. We have this on the Mini 2 and ours super useful 2. Why on earth do we not have it on the drone we paid twice as much for?

All good points , as always a very honest review. For me the main reason for me not buying one is the lack of the C classification as i am in the uk , I will be sticking to my M2P and mini 2 until we get the CE mark.

Are you sure about the props being compatible between the air 2 and air 2s ? I've been told otherwise. Also I enquired with master air screw about their props and they also said the air 2 models won't work with the 2s

I would like to see an updated DJI model with side sensors, upward sensors, and the ability to fly true waypoint (not virtual sticks) missions. AND that can be used in the USA, Canada, and Europe without too many restrictions!

Pulled the trigger on the 2s as my first ever drone and have been happy so far. I agree the lack of side sensors is confusing and really the one thing that stays in my mind as a reason I should have waited. Also hoping the compatibility for the fpv goggles is added as it was another reason I made the leap.

Most experienced drone pilots will tell us to never depend on OA sensors. Depend on building our skill level and maintain situational and spacial awareness. Many pilots disable the sensors for various reasons when they shoot critical shots and footage.

I’m relatively new to photography and videography. I hear people complaining that the Air 2s does not have a variable aperture and I also hear people complaining that the M2P loses the advantage of the 1” sensor when using a smaller aperture anyway and resort to ND filters. Seems like the lack of variable aperture and included ND filters if purchasing the Fly More combo is not much of a loss to me. Is there anything I’m missing?

they didn't certify it because in Europe we have no certificating bases even though the law says we should starting January 2021. That's if you let me answer your question instead of DJI. Also - there will be an option to recertify the drone later on.

You can change the resolution in Mastershots and Quickshots by tapping in the bottom right and changing it after you have chosen mastershots but before you hit start.

This is all good to know info. In spite of all these negatives, I am still thrilled with my Air 2S. It meets all of my needs as a real estate photographer/videographer. The ability to film in 5.4K 30 is wonderful because it gives me room to zoom and pan in post and still have great resolution. Also, it is just a joy to fly. I've had the Phantom 4 Pro for the past 6 years, and the Air 2S is more portable, and I get get it up in the air much faster than the older drone. DJI cut some corners in order to offer a drone at this price point, but for my needs it is the best value.

No, not at that price point and it’s too bad he only points out the faults (no drone is perfect) and doesn’t bother to say what drone is superior at that price point. The Air 2S fly more package on Amazon is a $1100.00 US. There is no drone that is superior at that price point.

Hi Tech ,Just had an onboard fire and smoke coming from the rear vents shortly after take off ,the App wobbled slightly and landed immediately.The smoke was coming from under the battery compartment and the Air 2s battery was actually okay,looks like the processor board has major issues or the fan.I have had only three flights on this model and it's only 2 weeks old.I want my money back and will stick to the Phantom 4-pro for now.

Have you noticed some jitter on the feed? Even on the recorded file. Like a lag or something. I have changed the wireless settings to manual, it shows available channels/frequencies that you can choose but those that are cleaner better dB you can't use. If you select it, it switches immediately to another channel range and has interference, why? That's dumb. Then also on the gimbal if you see on the left and right there are circular covers that are slowly pushing out. At first I was like is it broken? But it's not. Its like some lid or cover with some super cheap plastic and it's coming undone. Plus the gimbal overheats quite often. Then on top of all it, DJI updated the software, which mini 2 screen blacks out now. Still operational but that sucks. Slow charging actually not strong enough to keep my galaxy note 10 + from draining. The controller won't even allow manually sync anymore u have to use the app to link between devices.

Great job with your list but I think you missed three negatives. Some reviews have reported that the 2S photos and video look softer compared to the Air 2. Some reviews have reported a magenta tint. Lastly, the 22mm extra wide angle can by a disadvantage to some by having to get too close to some subjects (and front sensor might prevent you from getting as close as you want to get in non-sport mode) and you might have to fly further to get the view you want. The sun and neat cloud formations will also look smaller in sunsets compared to the Air 2 and 2 Pro.

I've had camera feed just crash out 3 times in the last week when I'm flying my Air2s and its unrecoverable until I bring the drone home and restart it. 3 times was enough for me to initiate the return to amazon and I'll try with a fresh unit. Hoping I just have a bad unit but having video feed fail makes the drone pretty useless for videos and photos. At least the telemetry seems to keep being transmitted so I can get it home.

I think it's an issue with dji fly app not the drone. There are several topics open on official dji forum about this problem. Looks like starting from certain version of fly app you can get this video feed freeze, it can be recovered mid-flight by closing and re-opening if the fly app

ND32 isn't bright enough for a sunny day? I have used ND16 on sunny days shooting 4K/24fps setting shutter speed to 1/50 sec with no problems.

After the last DJI Fly software update, the transmission of the images from my Air S2 to my Samsung 21 Ultra gets frozen. I see that I can control the gimbal and it takes the correct images/videos but they don't show up live on my phone. Interestingly, when using my Samsung tablet A7 it all works fine. Does anyone have a fix for this? (I tried reinstalling the software - same issue.)
