I can further tell you that, if you get devices with wifi and manage to set the emulators to play "online/host-client multiplayer", you and your childs and maybe even wife can have a similar experience of couch coop games back in the 80ies and 90ies, but with everyone playing in a different screen (guess 3 or 4 devices can play this way too, but need to check) instead of pairing more controllers to keep everyone in the same screen - which is also good in a play day at the big TV in the living room, but not so much suitable for when stuck in a car travel or something similar.

I understand that Inviting friends over can be a daunting task for dweebs, however, I would like to know if you can get it to work in a way thats fun. I tried it on ArkOS with NEOGEO with 2 RG353V in the same room. (My brother also has one and i was visiting him at his home) But didnt have good results. I only tested for about 10-20 minutes though, because I had to do adulting.

This chipset makes so much more sense for a square screen like this. I never really got why they put such a powerful chip in the original cube when this thing is pretty much made for game boy games. Having one this nice for such a cheap price is awesome! Also, I have to say the bit of you naming all the H 700 devices is incredibly hilarious to me 😂

I'm mainly into the new OLED Retroids lately, but I received a Cubexx the other day and it's really nice. I've owned around 5 Anbernics, and I think this is definitely one of their best. Incredibly comfortable, maybe my favorite face buttons on any device, and the 1:1 screen is very good for IPS and just something different.

I am paitently waiting for mu os. The xx devices have turned me into stardew valley addict. Something about the size of the cubexx makes it the PERFECT size for walking around the house gaming. I like my steam deck but its huge. The 35xxsp is my current favorite

I have an RG Cube, RGB 30, and just got the RG CubeXX. All great devices. But since I got the CubeXX, it's been my go to for all the retro systems you mentioned. Once Knulli gets out of Alpha, I'll probably put it on the XX for pico8 and the like. I loved my RGB30 but it has battery issues with Rocknix. And it's not as comfortable as the CubeXX to play for longer gaming sessions.

I hear that an all-natural pest spray should be able to stun the cube, allowing you to clip it back through the wall. Once it realises it's been exiled it should find another house no problem. Good to hear you're feeling better otherwise!

It would also be great for old J2Me games, many of which came in 128x128px like Pico8 and other vertical screen ratios. You should consider featuring them in your videos. I had more nostalgia with old phone games then retro consoles as that's what I grew up with.

Definitely. The Guitar Hero Mobile J2ME games are _perfect_ on the RG Cube (XX) (I have the original RG Cube). Regardless of whatever resolution versions I test, the Guitar Hero Mobile games can adjust and scale to any resolution and they look so good and retro at 320x320.

Anbernic got me hard with their RG Cube design, but since i was looking for a more "portal" thing at the time to stream my PC and also run more heavy stuff despite the device mainly be my "gameboy with bigger screen" to play everywhere the things my "nintendon't" (already had a Switch before), i just wiped the tears and left the Cube aside (also, as an old SEGA kid, the dpad on it made my eyes glow), but now they came again with this CubeXX right when i was considering also a smaller handheld with less power to have as a backup... This was a so freaking well timed that i couldn't let the cube whispering in the dark anymore and even sacrificed some virgins that i had in my wallet to order it! Only thing would save me from this deep desire of put my hands in one of these squarish zizzles would be someone coming with a OG GBA like design, but with all the buttons to play all the retro stuff, maybe a bigger screen (cause i'm getting blind at double the pace i'm getting old) and a stick would also come in handy.

12:19 But TechDweeb, I thought PICO-8 couldn't run natively on this line of -Zizzle devices and I thought it was a hardware issue but it's actually just the software/OS? Do I have that correct? Is that enabled by Knulli? With my RGB30 I was able to drop my licensed RPi copy of PICO-8 into the proper folder. Is it the same process? I kinda like my RGB30 but I hate how it discharges even when turned completely off. Is this Squazizzle going to be my replacement for my RGB30 for PICO-8 gaming or am I missing caveats here?

Yup, it runs on Knulli (not sure about stock OS). There were a few extra steps needed but it's all on the knulli wiki. It's really quick to do, only took me like 5 min. Just follow those instructions and it works a treat! knulli.org/systems/pico-8/

Can confirm. Miyoo Mini+ goes everywhere with me. In cargo shorts I hardly notice it's there and the build quality is excellent. I do put my house key in the same pocket and with the screen protector on I don't even worry about it.

The sticks are only good for 4 way games, say Pac Man, Burger Time, .. They should have left them off IMHO and place the speakers there. The rest is good to great! Comfort is 11 out of 10! Stock OS is okay-ish, but I currently run MinUI. Waiting for Knulli and muOS support. As soon as there's a good CFW, this will beat/ replace my RGB30. Edit: Oh, I am going to replace the sticks with some good hall-effect ones. I also did that with the RG30 and they work awesome! It's a joy to use those sticks! ;)

I have one of these as well. The Cube. The RG Cube XX - definitely not the dark cube. I don't even have a basement! The Cube XX is great for Pico-8. I'm going to follow your tutorial for setting up the custom firmware so I can do things natively. For the other cube, maybe try lighting some candles in your basement, something nice from Bed, Bath, and BEYOND ALL HUMAN COMPREHENSION! --- I mean Bath and Body Works, I always get those confused. I like the Scotch Lounge scent myself, and I don't even drink or smoke. Anyway, I hope that lights things up for you. Thanks for the video.

I think if you just build an entertainment center that incorporates the dark cube it'll most likely chill out, at least that's what the negative rhombus that used to hangout in my garage told me. Most dark entities just want something to do or want to feel useful, once you help them meet that goal they tend to be pretty easy to deal with. 😄👍

I hope they start using better SoC's for their "high end". T820 performance is lower than even the cheapest snapdragon 7 (7s-gen-2) which is very much a mid-range SoC, and handles the majority ps2/gcn titles with minimal tweaks. 7 gen 1 is faster than 7s gen 2, uses an adreno 644, turnip drivers are supported so that's a good option... ...or they could really surprise us with a 7 gen 3 to outperform the Retroid Pocket 5. 🤞
