I've literally spent 2 weeks watching numerous tech reviews so I can feel confident on my first vlogging camera purchase (I'm pretty sure you've all been there) looking for unbiased opinions, the reality and facts, and genuine helpful information as opposed to tech reviews that just made me more confused and felt pressured into purchasing what they were promoting. Thanks so much for watching - you can power them with a powerbank - I have not had any issues with overheating, but I know a few people who have - and you can get a small fan to help with that. Thanks for the video! I ended up getting an A6000 as my first camera a few weeks ago, but was tempted to upgrade in hindsight. I'm not particularly good at getting crisp focused images through the EVF though. Have you done any comparisons between the A6000 and the A6100 image-quality wise? Your shots look stunning, and the A6000 has been quite fun to shoot with overall, just need to figure out how to focus a bit more reliably. I'd prolly jump to the A6400 if the viewfinder is significantly better, unless there's another way to verify focus that you'd recommend/if I'm not supposed to be using the viewfinder to check focus..
@TechGearTalk4 жыл бұрын
You're very welcome. After you take a shot, check the focus in the LCD by zooming in on the preview. Depending on what you're shooting, you'll want to use different AF modes.

Awesome video. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor recently which has put me in a bed. It has given me a huge appreciation for my county and while in bed I have noticed that there is no real video or blogging done to show it off. I will be better within the next 8 mounths or so. I plan on starting an adventuring channel to show of New Zealand and also film a bit of hunting. What do you think the best cameras and lenses setup would be the best for blogging myself while hiking as well as the scenery/animals and then also being able to zoom in a few hundred meters on animals. New Zealand is a pretty ruggard and wet bush type environment so anything would need to be weather sealed at a minimum. For someone new to it all, it's pretty hard knowing what lenses and cameras would be good. GoPro with a a6600 or a7c with an assortment of lenses? I really have no idea, any opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks
@therealfinlay2 жыл бұрын
I would also like to note that in New Zealand dollars the following prices are A6100 $1198 A6400 $1798 A6600 $2648 A7 mark III $3199 A7C $3198 A7 iv $4798 Most lenses are starting from $1200 and go up to as much as $5000 Any options or opinions would be much appreciated. Thank you for this video and as well for the very informative content. I have owned the Sony A6400 for almost a year now and have taken it travelling with the SEL1650mm kit lens. (This was traveling pre-pandemic). Over the past few months, I have since paired the A6400 with a few lenses - some with and some without OSS. I have also seen various reviews of the A6600. Looking back, I would still choose the A6400. One of the main considerations for me would have been IBIS, but it appears that Sony's IBIS on the A6600 may not be "good enough" to warrant the cost difference. Purchasing a lens with OSS (albeit the selection would be limited to Sony lenses) and using a handful of techniques might offset the absence of IBIS on the A6400. I would like to point out that I do not own nor have ever used the Sony A6600. The comment regarding its IBIS is merely a general perception based on others' reviews or sample video clips. With the screen - I've gotten used to it. In some ways, having it flip up is better than having it side-mounted. For front-facing photos/videos, with the screen flipped up, at least your eyes are directed more towards the lens (even if you may be looking at the screen). If the screen is side-mounted, since there's a tendency to look at the screen, then the front-facing photo/video will capture your eyes looking sideways. With respect to durability - I managed to drop the A6400 on concrete while in Melbourne Park in Australia. It was a 3.5-foot drop. The main point of impact was the back part of the hand grip (where the battery door is). The battery door swung open as it hit the ground and the metal plate inside it popped lose. I thought for sure the camera would be damaged for sure. You can imagine what I felt at that moment as my wife and I ponder at the unfortunate event that just transpired. But lo and behold, other than a crack underneath the Preview and Trash Can buttons, the camera worked! Even the kit lens was unaffected. I was unable to close the battery door at first but after playing around with that metal plate, I was able to insert it back and have the battery door close properly. There was no other physical damage - even the grip itself left no evidence of the drop. We were amazed! Had I been using a larger and heavier lens, the outcome might be different though. Of the Sony A6000 line, the A6400 probably offers the best balance in features, functionality, and cost. Not too long before this post, Fuji released the X-S10. This may be more of a competitor to the A6400 in the APS-C market.
@SilveiraWTraveler3 жыл бұрын
So you are saying that a6400 is a good choice?
@romvil3 жыл бұрын
@@SilveiraWTraveler Yes. For less than the cost of the a6600 body, you can get the a6400 + 2 Sony lenses with OSS. For myself, I find full frame cameras much too large to take anywhere. A consideration especially when travelling. Since the original post however, there have been new camera releases that I would consider if I were buying a camera today: Sony a7c - Yes - it's full frame but with a compact body. Sony ZV-E10 - Recently announced - APS-C sensor and interchangeable lens - an even less expensive option than the a6400. Fujifilm X-S10 - I think this is the best mid-range APS-C camera out there. And this one has IBIS. I own this as well. Where it falls short - battery life and video recording limit (a6400 has no limit).

I found a great deal on a used a6100 as an upgrade to my a6000. There were two things that were left out of the 6100 that it never occurred to me to check. The electronic level which I just assumed would be there, and then the IR sensor. I use and IR remote with the 6000 all the time and it was a great disappointment that it wasn't in the 6100. Maybe no one else uses it which is why it's never mentioned in any review. I get around both, but it seems to me those were odd things to leave out. Outside of that, I love the camera.

Seriously considering the a6100, but leaning towards the a6400 because of the AWB lock. why is the number of frames you can shoot in a row in first place? Its like at the very end of the specs you'd look at when buying a camera, unless you're an A9 shooter for sports events...? Then you move on to the body/grip shapes, and I'm thinking it'll be 30+ minutes before we get to anything that's actually critical for shooting some video with audio. Is evf resolution a big deal? A6100 is more on my budget but it has lower level evf resolution compared to the canon m50 mkII

You said all 3 offer Animal Eye AF... but I don't see anywhere else stating the 6100 offers this. Are you sure?

Guys, I got ax100 and it seems not strong AF (blurring, very slow) I don't know if any of a6100 or a6600 or Zv1 could match or give better image quality than ax100 because the lens in AX100 is very good. I understand the sensors difference from 1 inch sensor all the way to Aps-c but still the lens in ax100 is very good (if anyone knows how much the lens cost of ax100? In equivalent to sony lens?) Both Zv1 and ax100 is one inch sensor both same sensor but I don't know if zv1 lens could beat or same ax100 lens? Do you think that a6600 or a6100 can beat the ax100 or zv1 with their own lens come with the body (in term of video quality)?

Obsessed with your vids last few days! Would love your suggestion even after watching the full vid, lol. I wanna go with the one within my budget 6100, using it mainly for vlogging, self taped and short film clips. I’m worried about no stabilization but when I’m filming it’s almost always on a tripod. Will this been and issue? (For pic taking as well). Thanks!

Yo, I am thinking of getting a camera for streaming. I have a big budget, and just want to buy the perfect camera, so I never need to upgrade in the future. Optimally I want to be able to use the camera for vlogs as well. Any suggestion for which to get? (Could be a different model than the ones in the video), and which lenses would go well with them for streaming/vlog. Could a camera be good enough for both streaming and vlog? Or would I need two different ones?

Ordered a6400 with 18-135mm lens. Do you think the lens will be good for videos as well as I am planning to shoot a lot of videos with some photos on the side. Also, could you suggest some good lens which will be better for videos rather than photography for the a6400.. P.s- loved your content. You just earned a sub!

? So I watch multiple videos from a year ago on these models, every single time they mention a price it is almost 1/2 of they are currently charging? Seriously that much of a price increase in a year?????
@RockyMaiviaMiami4 жыл бұрын
Easy answer is A6100 at 548 currently. Difference in $600-700 in a lens is much higher than a body. Same sensor, batteries are cheap, and if you need log then You should probably be shooting full frame anyway. Image stabilization might be the biggest difference. If you don’t need it get the 6100, if you do buy a used A7iii

Can I ask a question? Lower f mean expensive price? Like f/1.2 or f/1.4 or higher f mean it's more expensive? Second : for streaming what is the best lens for canon m200 with very Good light? I am thinking to buy sigma 30mm 1.4 DC dn is it good? Sorry for all this much question.. Thanks ♥️♥️
@TechGearTalk4 жыл бұрын
All things being equal, a lower number maximum aperture, the higher the cost. When you say for streaming "with very good light) do you mean you have good light? Or you need it to let more light in? the 30mm 1.4 is a fantastic choice!

They have not improved the quality yet - if you want 1080 or 4k you need a capture card or this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWOYlYWml7Jjbtk
