Never underestimate how important sound is for a video. A picture that is slightly off is ok, but as soon as the sound cuts or jumps up in volume and every single person will notice it

Thank you. I needed to reduce decibels on A1 and A2 in only one segment of the audio track. Thank you for showing how to bring down decibel levels for fading using the markers on the track. It gave me the answer I needed! Very nicely explained.

Thank you for putting together these videos. Many of the other KZbin tutorials over complicate things. Your videos a clear and concise. I have a time-lapse clip of a gannet colony. This is the first of many that I want to edit post rendering. I want to produce an audio that recreates the cacophony of thousands of birds squabbling, bickering and calling. I have 4 audio tracks. I want to combine all the tracks so that they are all playing at the same time. How can I do that?
@techismad6 жыл бұрын
For heavy duty audio work, I would take that out of Lightworks and handle it with a different program. Audacity is free and can do most things you need to in audio.

@ESH Tech I have Lightworks 14 as well. Can you tell me how to fix the audio stuttering in it?
@DD-19966 жыл бұрын
@ESH Tech That is, while I'm putting videos together.
@techismad6 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the audio stutters while you're editing your clips? I would very quickly export the video to your hard disk and then watch a finished exported clip to see if the audio stutters in that version. While I'm editing on my laptop, the picture freezes all the time, but the final exported version is always just fine.

Although I find this video very helpful, I am having so much trouble having tracks synch with one another. I've tried everything. I encoded and set all clips to 30 fps and to a constant frame rate running throughout my current sequence. Everything is in synch until something happens which delays audio / video from synching properly. This usually happens within a few hours after the initial edit. I can't proceed with my project until I figure this out. I edited a 20 minute film only to later discover that everything fell out of synch. I also have auto track synch set as default. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

say we have some dialogue associated with some part of the video along with a background music running through the whole length . Can we decrease the background music just for the part where the audio track plays ?
@techismad2 жыл бұрын
Sure - if you check out the video around the 10:00 minute mark, you'll see that I add markers to the audio track to add a fade in. A really simple way to "pull down" the audio levels of background music is this: Add TWO markers at the start of the audio you want to decrease the volume, and then TWO markers at the end of the decrease. Put your mouse on audio level in the middle of these markers, and then decrease the audio by grabbing the level with your mouse and pulling it down.

Thanks for the good work that you have done. I wonder how could have done it if i want to work on the oposite direction, not to fit the audio on the movie, but to fit a movie on a song for example. Let's say we want to make a music video clip, the audio is fixed and we have to fit on to the audio deferend schenes of movie clips

Hey! Hopefully you can answer my question, I'm working with light works and I'm making a vlog that has some video cuts/edits, I'm adding background music to help remove some of the static from the when it was recorded, how can I lower all the volume at once on the clipped portions of the videos?
@techismad7 жыл бұрын
Try this: Click on the Audio tab. Your clips will be there, and you can also see the audio of each of the clips. The audio will show you their levels with a dotted line, and on the left side of each dotted line is a small square. Using your mouse, you can select all these squares (they will then be highlighted yellow). Using your mouse scroll wheel, you can lower or raise the volume of all the clips you just selected.
