I appreciate that it is has been over 1 yr since someone commented on this, but I stumbled upon this video after watching a few others about online game making. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this as it has given me the basic insight into what is needed to be able to create a POC for a project I am working on. Hey thanks for the comment. I've been working with Stencyl for so long, and this video took me a very long time to make. I've got into Godot game engine right now, because I think that's the future for (free) game engines

​@@techismad I've created a 2d game now, although having some issues with sound, but I am sure I'll sort that out. :) I'll give Godot a look, I'm also looking at Voxedit for 3D modelling and animation. Have you done much 3d work?

@@techismad I have! I'm at the point in the video where my actor tilts when flying left to right! Question: is it ok if I have yet to create my bad guys? Can I always create and then upload them into the game, later?

@@techismad Also, I created a piskel of a different version of my character, that transforms into a helicopter that fires weapons. My idea was that the transformation only occurs on subsequent levels as the player gathers enough potions. Is it possible to have transformation occurr at the push of a button to transform and then to transform back to the character's normal state?

Is there supposed to be a project file? Because the tutorial starts off with a pre-made project with actors already created, it skips past creating them.

In your Firing script. you only needed to set "if Space is Pressed", not "Down" and all that checking you did to make only one bullet fly at a time would be unnecessary

That's a good point - I think somebody else told me this a while back. You're absolutely correct - you can use the "Pressed" rather than the "Down"

I've been having problems with the size and clarity of my actors, or characters. Is there a solution to my problem?

There actually is. When you import frames into an Actor, you'll see a little option on the top bar that says Scale. If you have that set to x1 your animation will be the size you saved it as. If you do x2, it will half the size and so on.

Isn't there a way to kill everything that leaves the screen in one instruction?

You could try going to the actor Type you want to apply that "kill on exit" to, go to events and add a new event > (Enters of leaves the scene or screen) > Actor of type. Then set it so it says "When a [Actor type] [exits] the [scene]" Then add the "kill [Actor]" block (should become "kill [Self]" when you drag it over)

you’re trying to test the game on Mac OS, which needs to install Xcode to work. Test it on HTML 5 and it will play in your browse.

This has happened to me a few times. It can be because of a lot of things. Do me a favour - in the top right of Stencyl, above "Test Scene" and next to "Test Game" can you see what it says in little drop down menu. Mine says HTML 5

I did everything that you said in this video and it worked out well, but for the last step where it's "press s to start" (I put mine as press enter to start"), when I try to start the game, it says, Events for 'Start' Not enough arguments, expected clip:com.stencyl.models.Sound from scripts.SceneEvents_1 line: 79 columns: 3-14
