Thanks! Mine fell from my desk on the floor. Sidebuttons didnt work anymore. Decided to try and open it. This video was very helpfull. Appeared to be a loose ribbon cable. Put it all back together and the MX Master 3 is performing as new again. Thanks!

The shell material of this mouse has a very short lifespan. I suspect that Logitech is deliberately reducing the product life. My mouse has only been used for a year and the shell material is already damaged and looks like it is melted.

I was going to buy a new one because of the same problem! The rubber was kinda sticky and awful :-( but recently I’ve found a replacement for the upper shell on aliexpress so i’m going to try and take apart mine and give it a new lease of life, fingers crossed!

Yes, I'm highly suspect of logitech after buying this mouse and will likely never buy another product from them. The design is fantastic, but the default switches on the 3s are very cheap and began failing after 1.1 year (1 year warranty). Logitech support gaslighted me for 2weeks with the typical nonsense until saying that they were unable to do anything but asked me to recycle the mouse because the company has "gone green" 😅. Luckily this video helped me dissemble the mouse and solder omicron switches onto the board, which solved the problem.

I think the issue is cleaning the rubber cover with alcohol, that's what will make it sticky after a while. I've seen some people cleaning it with plain water.
@HazewinDog9 ай бұрын
The shell on mine is still flawless after almost 2 years, but my left click just stopped working properly... EDIT: for those wondering, I mostly dry clean, but if clean with liquid then it's with water, not alcohol.

That sucks. I've been using mine for 4 years now, and it is still in really good shape. Unfortunately there are many users reporting premature wear, than users such as myself. How many hours per day would you use your? I want to say I've probably put about 6000 hours on my mouse, mostly gaming.

My side buttons and side scroll wheel didn't work at all... After I watched your video I suspected that it could be the flex cable (the one that you disconnect right after you open the mouse). And I was right, that flex was disconnected! Now I connected it (and added some tape) and it works like a charm! THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!!!

This mouse's left clicker has been known to stop working or malfunction for many buyers, and I think the main issue is the design heavily allows dust and particulates to enter and effect the buttons. So this is great for opening and cleaning every so often. Tho for 100 bucks you'd think someone would come up with a better design.
