Facts, look at Zidane, Figo, R9 was an anomaly, Totti, Batistuta, Aimar, Riquelme, Rui Costa, Bergkamp, Zola, absolute ballers

Busquets is one of the greatest DM’s of all time and he is probably one of the worst athletes I’ve ever seen. Yet nobody could ever get close to him and get the ball.

85% this season in 4 games, in the past few seasons he averages around 81% which isn't great for someone labelled an elite 'midfielder'. Comparing that to the likes of bernardo who averages around 90% and then rodri who's around 92% the difference is significant. Toni kroos who is by far the best passer in recent years has had over 92% pass accuracy in every season for the past decade

@@JM_250 because kdb is an attacker not a midfielder. If people were to compare him to proper attackers who had g/a then fairs he's in that category but when I see man compare him to the likes of Scholes, fabregas, Vieira etc it makes no sense because his game is completely different to theirs. Especially the modric comparisons which have been popular on twitter, modric is one of the greatest 'MIDFIELDERS' of all time and throughout history, midfielders were never judged on g/a. G/a is for the attackers

Nah rants your on a mad one. Those type of players like KDB are there to create and move the ball forward. They have to take chances to try and make opportunity. You can’t compare those type of players to like a Rodri or pirlo because they are more for efficiency in keeping the ball and bringing it forward. KDB is the top level of that kind of player and Bruno is an example of someone who tries to play like that but is even less efficient and consistent. Fact of the matter is KDB has been the anchor of this dominant city side for years and has contributed massively to there success. Players like bruno have contributed nowhere near the same amount. This is coming from a Utd fan😂
@rawrostar
@rawrostar 7 ай бұрын
Simply put KDB plays in a completely different position lmao he’s not involved in build up play his job is as you said moving the ball forward into the final third and making attacking changes
@Prime1Wunna
@Prime1Wunna 7 ай бұрын
This KDB agenda stinks man… the closer players are to goal the harder it becomes to keep the ball, ofc he’s gonna lose it more as he approaches the box. Guaranteed if he just went back all the time, they’d be asking questions for someone to create. Also stop putting Bruno n kdb in the same category, because they’re miles apart from each other.

About De Bruyne, he is an attacking midfielder, so his game will be different to Kroos, Bernardo Silva, Rodri etc. it’s more output based. That’s why I don’t like it when people call him the best midfielder or compare him to Modric, Scholes, Gerrard etc. His game is completely different and for an attacking midfielder his passing accuracy is very very good. He’s more similar to Lampard who was good at passing but his main attribute was long shots.

Rants, there's one player that comes to mind for me immediately on this topic. Tugay at Blackburn. No pace, but what a player. He was dictating the play in the Premier League in his mid 30s. He made Gerrard look silly in one game at Ewood in 2006. Tugay, a real baller. Blackburn Rovers, a real club destroyed by clowns in India. Venky's out!

@darwinsantos5953 dude he finished sixth last season and was sacked with Roma around the same spot. You mentioned he NEARLY won 2 trophies. He hasn’t won anything at his last two clubs so he doesn’t keep winning?! His football is too outdated, he might do well in Europa or reach an efl cup final. That’s as far as it goes. He WAS great, not anymore and that’s okay.

@@darwinsantos5953 no I think he would be perfect for a national team, the point I was making is done at the top of club European football. Never said anything about international managers. But fair enough didn’t realise he won something with Roma. It’s all second string trophies though.

💯 mate. This is why i was never a massive fan of Thierry Henry. He was more of a great athlete. I massively respect him but i never felt bowled over by him because of that push and run type of dribble. C.Ronaldo was in a similar vein imo. I preferred watching lesser players like Robben, Giggs, Ginola who had genuine dribbling abilities. Cast your mind back to players like Gazza, Maradona , Rui Costa dribbling with the ball. At times the ball looking like it ls out of control getting away from them but they push it past another player then another player and go on these mazy runs. Then you think about the genuine number 10s like Zola, Bergkamp, Hagi, Stoichkov, Rivaldo etc. Todays football is about playing the percentages. To squeeze the fun out of the game for results. Like a boxer who uses his defense to create his offence. Sure hes great, but hes boring. An opponent is harder to break down when they're guard is up and theyre not swinging back. You cannot land punches in-between their punches.

This is why i always say the prem is killing football, and i grew up on prem and its my favourite but so many of the greatest never played here because its too pace and power reliant, now its got all the money and everyone with any potential is sat on bench earning 100k plus thinking theyve completed football. If the prem takes over even further all we'll have is about 6 decent teams in europe and a solely pace and power game. Prem fan boys need to realise the damage its causing

This argument is all over the place. How did you start talking about wingers and forwards, then end up talking about KDB and quarterbacks in NFL? Wingers and forwards have always been the positions more likely to lose possession. KDB has never been a deep lying midfielder, nor has he played as winger, so what are you trying to say? Football has changed. Le Tissier was pure talent, a one of a kind player, but he was never a winger or forward.

Interesting argument i see why rants is a jokic fan the outlier would be a LeBron athletic but high iq i like tekky flare players myself but to not exploit a quality like speed dont know that you could necessarily fault the player. Like should i use a finesse move or just breeeze past this man? Maybe when a player ages he'll rely more on tekk if its in his locker. Rashy and Martinelli def woukd take their games to the next level if they added some more skill moves to their arsenal to take a man on

@@ftman461 Yes because football is more about systems now. Belgium’s system is trash and Man City’s system is really really good. De Bruyne is still a better footballer and has achieved more than Ozil. Even if you want to use the golden generation argument, remember that Belgium didn’t qualify for any tournament between World Cup 2002 and World Cup 2014, which is crazy in hindsight, but felt normal at the time. Belgium didn’t have any good players. ‘Golden generations’ must be considered in relation to the country’s historic record. You could draw a comparison between Belgium and the Denmark side of the 1980s, which featured the likes of Michael Laudrup, Preben Elkjaer, Soren Lerby, Frank Arnesen and Morten Olsen. They reached the semi-finals of Euro ’84, and the second round of World Cup ’86, which is nothing spectacular, but they remain fondly remembered, in part, because of their style of play. No one looks down on them because they didn’t win anything. There’s also the fact that the players in the squad are trash. Attacking midfielders need someone good to work with. Lukaku and Haaland are two different levels. Furthermore there is much tension in the squad and bad chemistry. Roberto Martinez's questionable tactical choices, and fitness issues for key players also contributed to their severely underwhelming performance in the Qatar World Cup Ozil declined post Real Madrid which was natural as he was in a worse team but it was still a decent Arsenal side. He was just lazy and couldn’t take the PL where there’s much less time and space on the ball. He literally got outplayed and outshined by a 17 year old Cesc Fabregas who would go on to be one of the best assisters in PL history.

Football is a technical game…they can recruit all the pace and power merchants they want, but it’s about technical skill and speed of thought. It requires next to no equipment too. Don’t even need a gym or pitch to play. Hence why it is the best sport as it is accessible to everyone.
