I agree with this technique on plain highway road. But As I'm being a hills area driver this technique is not much useful .

This method is required only for very old cars and trucks. Modern cars have synchromesh transmission and you can shift directly from 1 to 2 without moving to center neutral. There is no way you can move from 1 to 2 without passing through neutral in modern cars. In fact it is dangerous to stay in neutral for more time than required.

Shifting similar way since day one I always keep it neutral before shifting on next Many people taught me to shift directly but I always feel comfortable coming to neutral before going to next But yeah initially when I learnet I used to chnge gears as you told very carelessly but now very smooth they are really very easy n makes you comfortable too

Very well explained! I am a beginner level driver and rely on such videos to improve my driving skill. One question though... Do we always get so much time to pause (bring it to neutral) and then shift gear? What about when we are driving in congested situation like traffic and all especially when we frequently need to go from 1st to 2nd and then back to 1st?

No need to pause at neutral. You can shift between 1st and 2nd gears

There is no problem at lower speeds. But REMEMBER!, when u shift the right way at high speeds, u need to adjust the engine rpm during the period before going into higher or lower gear, otherwise u will feel the jerk as the rpm is not suitable for the fast moving tyres, so whenever u shift, watch the rpm quickly, blip the throttle to match the rpm, u will shift smoothly and nobody will notice anything

In heavy traffic also u can take a pause at neutral unless u r doing a drag race and need to change gears very quickly

you thought that the neutral gear is only the center most point of the selector (the one between gears 3 and 4). Actually, the points on its left and right are neutral too. The proper way to shift from gear 1 to gear 2 is by simply moving your gear selector downwards twice

my 2k run bareeza's 5th gear is making humming noise when acccelator is pressed. sound goes off on taking foot off gas pedal. it also goes off if i touch gear knob with a finger. sound is not always but most of the times. no warning lights. all other gears are ok. any suggestions? Hello.. I have a query.. whenever I engage or disengage the reverse gear a "clank" sound comes out under the bonnet . Is it normal with TATA Tigor XZ bs6(bought this month) ???

There is a gear cable in bonnet for reverse gear as well as for forward gears attached to the gear box. Check if the connection is proper by following some KZbin videos or go to a mechanic.

It comes when u shift from 1st to reverse gear or vice versa....Let the vehicle stop completely. Wait for half second....press clutch fully ,then shift gear . Don't put reverse gear when the vehicle is in motion.

That's true. Arm rest help a lot. Actually car mechanism is designed as u cant hold steering with both hands. Left hand is for gear lever. Design should be like gear shifter should be between floor gear and steering gear in old cars.
