Bravo! Mighty Indians have shown their talent. Now there is no need to change &/or swap the engines. The differential with bldc motor offers a cost-effective & permanent solution for the conversion of an 800 cc car into a hybrid one. With the intact petrol engine, the car can be used by commuters for a long intercity drive.

Pls keep it up, wonderfull , just that if the control between electic and petrol be controlled via a microcontroller it would be awessome, first step if petrol is running switch off the electric motor, also use regen to charge battery, using gyro to detect downmove, weight, speed and brake detection.

Beautiful DIY project. Please share in the description about details to get this kit. It would be even more efficient if you alter this system a little bit. This fixed differential system will vibrate a lot and also puts more weight on the tyres which will lead to a drag developing when driving. You can reduce the weight and also keep the motor-differential until fixed to the underbody of the car using mounting beds like we for mounting theengine. Cut the long and heavy wheel shafts on both sides of the differential and use light weight drive shafts to connect to the wheel hubs like we have in the front wheel drive system. That way, only wheel vibration and up-down rocking will be restricted to the wheel suspension and not affect the whole motor unit. That would also help in improving torque vectoring as both wheels are independent. More weight means more inertia/lag, which means more power needed for intended performance. So when the weight is cut down, expect better and swift performance.

I am a bit late but I like the simplicity of this conversion. However, when the ICE is powering the vehicle the rear wheel/def will cause the Emotor to turn at high revs. Won't that cause some problems (braking/overheating etc)?

Not hybrid. It is dual fuel. A hybrid reclaims charge under braking when using the ICE and also reclaims charge from the engine unit. A hybrid is a combination. You have built two separate types of propulsion.

Um, Its a nice idea and all but just one thing. The Axle is flipped around the wrong way. The drain plug is at the top now, the vent port is at the bottom and the fill plug is lower than its supposed to be. That axle is going to burn itself up. Its a good idea for a low speed aftermarket ev hybrid though.
