Characteristics of He-Ne laser are:- ~He-Ne(Helium-Neon) laser is a gaseous laser. ~The laser action of this laser is of 4-level pumping scheme. Brewster's law:- It is a law gave in the terms of polarization of light which is mainly used to remove the unwanted wavelengths either from the lens of spectacles or is used to eliminate the wavelengths in the optical renoator/cavity of a laser whose wavelengths are not near 6328 Angstroms. Two characteristics:High efficiency,No external cooling is required. Brewster's law works on eliminating the unwanted wavelength .e.g. in he-ne laser,it gives its stables output i.e. 6328A. Other one get eliminate. Sir ,the way uh teach ,almost the concerning topic leave its shape in mind🙂. Thankew so much sir for making it little easier🥰.

Sorry sir, but I will be writing all the charactertistics as you were an excellent teacher :) 1. Gas based laser 2. First continuous laser, as Nd-YAG and Ruby lasers had pulsed outputs 3.Active Medium= 10:1 mixture of He and Ne respectively 4. Electrically Pumped 5. 4-level laser 6. Output wavelength falls in the re spectrum i.e usually 6328 Angstrum 7. No external cooling required 8. Long life laser All these qualities makes it widely used in scientific experiments and laboratories. Brewster's Window is basically a polarizer that eliminates the unwanted wavelegths+unwanted reflections.

Brewster's law = Malus discovered that when an unpolarised falls on the surface of any transparant substance, the reflected and refracted rays are partially plane polarized and the degree of polarisation depends on the angle of incidence. Brewster discovered a relation between polarising angle and refractive index of the transparant substance w.r.t surrounding medium i.e., ,u= tan ip

Brewster angle is a polarisation angle.It is a angle at which unpolarized light polarizes and reflects when incident on a transparent medium. Here Brewster windows are used in order to get the output wavelength of desired wavelength of 6328 angstrom. The most important property of He Ne laser is that it is low power consuming device and output can be withdrawn from it for long period of time.
