Testing is testing, how you do it depends on the project requirement, that being said, even a product isn't developed without a prototype. So, if you are automating your functional test cases without at least scribbling down your test scenarios, you are bound to make mistakes. The reason why many automation testers are basically UI testers and automate without actually understanding the application.

Please reach out to my valuable comments here , past 6 years I am working with TOP MNC's as role for QA Engineer. I never faced such as you have to start manual or automation. IT industry is not going to closed so don't worry testing is gonna be end. Offcourse if there is 60% automaton then 40%Manual.

100 times less scope. as no company want a employee who doesnt have experience in coding. I am finding job in testing and automation. Didn't get even after one month. I have experience of 4 yrs. No one wants tester or automation engineer. All my friends switched their jobs. As they were developer and know coding.

No one will give u job if don't know coding. As now most testers are from mech, civil as they work in cheap. I am thinking to do different thing or job or business whatever. Cuz I got to know without coding I can't earn 1lac per month in my whole life if I work as tester. Old generation of 80-70s were lucky that they easily can switch to job. Bt companies now want coding, programming, AI skills from testing employees also.

@@ajinkyagawarkar4714 actually coding is not necessary. Bt india is overpopulated country. So companies want employees who have coding knowledge and manual testing also. If anyone knows coding why the hell he will work in testing he will work as developer or data analysts. Most people work in test cuz they don't like or don't know coding it's simple🙂. In foriegn there are jobs for testers as they have less population and skilled people in IT. So people will get jobs easily. In india companies easily get employee and all employees are replaceable and ready to work in cheap salaries due to Overpopulation and so many engineers. If u have money to go abroad then for u there is opportunity in testing. In india Support, manager, database and cloud administrator are good jobs other than developer.
