Episode 1
I have been wanting to start a podcast for a while now. This is Episode 1. Getting your vehicle diagnosed and repaired in a timely manner can be like a game of telephone at times. Here are some ways to mitigate that situation. I realize that some of this may sound like complaining, and you'd be right haha, that doesn't mean the information isn't useful.

If I may, would like to make a couple of comments and ask a quick question. The comments been that as you already know, when it comes to the service advisers the dealerships just hires bodies, here today, gone tomorrow, so unfortunately you're fighting a loosing battle. And the same goes for the parts guy, they not getting any better, got to the point that I have to know more about the parts that I need than the part guy. Second comment, maybe I'm wrong but I have this feeling that most of the modern owners of MB are as knowledgeable as the service advisers and to make it worse they feel entitled. Then again I could be totally wrong. Anyways just outta curiosity: Do MB dealerships still work on KE Jetronic ? And not to be a sales advisor :D I was wondering if they would do a full system check as in upper and lower pressure, amount of fuel put out by the injectors, and so on? Sorry for taking time, and again I do understand your dissatisfaction with certain aspects of your environment, it's how it goes these days.

A large portion of our service advisors have been with the dealership for years, some as long as I have. Still, these are all personal experiences. Same with the parts advisors. They've all been at our dealership for 20+ years. I don't really have any complaints of the parts guys. We don't have any techs that were around from the K Jet days anymore. Our last one retired about two years ago. We do have a CDT that will diagnose and work on those vehicles on the special occasion that they come in. Not too many people with vehicles of that vintage want to spend $540 for the two hours of labor we charge for older vehicles for diagnosis. When he does diagnose them, he checks everything. All pressures, measurements, adjustments.
