Great review. I bought the Technics SC-C70 MK-2 yesterday after 15 minutes of great listening experience and this review confirmed all. And more.

Very good and detailed, but not overly so, review. I can only imagine the Vicar giving only a positive, yet subtle, approval. 😊

What a wonderful exposition of how the piece is all about ‘lifestyle.’ I saw a sales pitch for this unit, but it pales in comparison to your review. I would want to listen to it before plunking down the cash. I’m not sure how well a turntable would fit into the targeted lifestyle. 🙂

Excellent review Paul. I consider tone controls to be useful because many albums are mastered badly and these are useful to make the sound more listenable . Ideally you should defeat tone controls but for some albums they are necessary.

Hello sir ,i really apreciate you for your magnificent review,please Tell me which is better in sound quality in first and overall in second between technics ottava sc-c70 mk2 and Ruark r5 ,You are the only one that can respond me based on true experience, thanks and keep it up.
@TheAudiophileMan2 жыл бұрын
A tough question - I like both. Maybe the Ruark is slightly more civilised and the Technics slightly more energy based but both a excellent. I would make a decision on price, features and ease of use. Check both videos for this info.

What I would like to understand is whether it can stream music from a CD to my Bluetooth headphones. Or is the built-in Bluetooth only supposed to receive music?

Hi Paul sticking with the lifestyle theme , do you think they’ve missed a bit or a trick by not including a couple of line level outs to allow a TT with built in phono stage . It just seems that it would complete the lifestyle image that is so on trend these days , a few discreetly places records would give a certain je ne sais quoi to the seen . And may in reality works rather well. I certainly have some close friends who would be more than happy with that setup , for the very same reason you have stated they just don’t want the clutter of a full system . Best wishes and kind regards to your good self 😀👍👍👍

My initial response to this unit, aesthetically speaking, was very similar to the one I had upon seeing the last edition of the Roksan Caspian integrated amp.

I’ve asked about the Transport. I may be addressing a new turntable from the company first, though.

Great video, would be excellent for my bedroom. Could you use a turntable through the aux input?
@TheAudiophileMan3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tony - with an external phono amplifier and cable adaptors, it is possible I suppose. Technics doesn't make it easy, though.

Hi friend, Technics or a Ruark R3?
@stevesneed563 жыл бұрын
I often thought that a machine like this would be ideal for when you get much older ,and don't (or can't) lug around heavy audio equipment! Like the looks of , but maybe some tubes could give it a bit of air !

Hi, so how do you this unit compares to the Ruark R5?
@richardmoloney6893 жыл бұрын
I have the R5. The longer I have it, the more I love it. I'd love a separates system but space won't allow it. It has everything.
