The only place I have found this piece is at Original Paint by Numbers, but it seems like I saw it recently somewhere else. I’ll do some research and see if I can find you a more reputable place to order from.

Thanks for this video, I’m just finishing the Schipper triptych winter wonderland, it’s gorgeous! Some of the paints are very watery though so coverage isn’t great. I’ve found that if the paint seems thin and the numbers are showing, using a little Tippex (wite-out) on the number before painting helps massively!

Yes! That’s my favorite old tip to share. Then I learned the “shades of gray” trick from my hubby, and it was also a game-changer for transparent paints. There is always something new and different to learn every day. 🥰

Congratulations on finishing this lovely piece! Thanks again for your troubleshooting tips for crooked pieces which was so helpful as I have noticed that paint by numbers canvases are a little smaller than 16x20 so when you mount them onto a 16x20 frame, the picture does not stretch to the edges of the frame. I just finished my first piece and like you said to me before, I'm addicted now! Lol!

They are never 16x20”, because they’re 40x50cm...which isn’t the same. It definitely causes problems when framing, but I hope I’ve demonstrated some options for us now! 😊

Now i have another question, please: The canvas i have - has some ‘color table’ on the side, that is still seen on the side of the canvas after framed in a similar frame as yours here. What is the best way to cover it, if i do not want a black frame, but white...?

I use a Sakura Micron pen that is waterproof & archival...just in case.

I’m surprised that you did not mention you should wait a minimum of 24 hours to assure the paint has dried thoroughly. It’s my understanding that it could affect the clarity of the varnish. (Makes it cloudy) Other artists have made a point of stating that.

I guess I assumed logical people would know better than to put a sealant over wet or uncured paint, but I should have also followed my own first rule...never assume anything 😂🤦🏻‍♀️.

What do you sign your name with?

I use a Sharpie permanent black fine tip pen. I would prefer to use a Micron or something archival, but the Sharpie seems to work well. On this painting the signature of the artist (Leonid Afremov) was part of the painting in the lower left, and I left it instead of painting over it. I may go back and paint over it, but I felt like it gave him credit for the original by leaving it on...although it’s illegible. I do always sign and date my paintings though...for after I’m gone my kids/grandkids/etc will know who painted them. ☺️
