Remember hand scraping my scribing block, made as an exercise as an apprentice 62 years ago.. Since that time I have never needed to attempt hand scraping.

The uniformity of the flaking is a mark of craftsmanship, perhaps, but may not effect function. It would take a few decades of experience to judge, I suppose. I've flaked a few square inches and it's surprising how much it hurts. Maybe you grow accustom to it.... or the wages compensate! BTW, cut the finger off a latex glove and put it over your bandage. Then you can work, even wash your hands, without soiling your bandage or losing the machinist's "feel". I've found that 3-5 days of careful attention, cleanliness, and triple antibiotic speeds healing of nicks and serious cuts.

Thnks for nice feedback. I just do this for a hobby, so wages are not a theme 😀 Yes, I will make up a better bandage.. really just a small wound, but keep hitting it so.. I sense you are a pro? It would be interesting to hear what type of machines you work on!
